That's not fair. Your application was received the day after mine but completed on the same day. :-(

Seriously, they must batch them up in 2-3 day groups and those with no problems seem to be completed together.

Looks like it's down to the USPS now. My status changed to "Mailed" today. I need to get on the ball and figure out what and how I'm going to carry. I wish there was a gun show in town this weekend so I could actually try on some of the holsters that I'm looking at.

07/31/2010: CHL Class
08/09/2010: Mailed to DPS
08/19/2010: Online information Available
08/19/2010: Fingerprints Approved
09/07/2010: Background Check Complete
09/07/2010: Manufacturing
09/09/2010: Mailed

Don't know where you are located but there is a gun show in Conroe at the Lone Star Convention Center.

Thanks for the info. We sometimes like to stay at a B&B in Montgomery for a quite weekend away from the city. However, we just got back from vacation and we're both looking forward to a nice weekend at home. I'm sure there will be other gun shows. :-)

Thanks, :txflag:

Still waiting for the online status to show something other than:
License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.
08-26-2010: Mailed Packet
10-01-2010: License Received
34 day turnaround, great job TXDPS!

Yeah, me too. I know it's barely been a week, but the wait is aggravating... It's going to be a long month... :yawn

Oddly, that was the longest part of my process. Second only to the mailing. I think they sit in a pile waiting to get assigned/entered, then sit in the mail room for a couple of days. Still, it's much better than it has been. The post election flood has subsided it seems. I've noticed prices of ammo and weapons dropping rapidly lately, and even sales/rebates going on. Heck, I can even buy primers and powder now!

S&W 642 and crossbreed on order......finally made a decision on what I wanted. Lol, that took longer than the CHL process!

Best of luck and a speedy delivery to those still waiting!

Woohoo! I just check and my status has finally been updated online. Background check in progress and all the paperwork received. Looks like 9 days is the magic number for the DPS mailroom.

By the way, at FAST Fingerprints they told me my fingerprints would definitely (with emphasis on DEFINITELY) be rejected due to insufficient ridge definition. Whew! Glad they were accepted after all so I don't need a re-do.

My renewal CHL is listed as mailed. Less than 60 days for sure, probably turn out to be about 6 weeks mailbox to mailbox .
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...
