Ok let me ask you a question guys. After 3 weeks I finally got an update on Saturday morning. Everything looked fine except the next to photo holder it says under review and next to photo it says missing. Now I know that the photos were in the packet I checked everything right before I sealed the envelope and I know that the other little envelope marked photos was in there. So I called today to ask about it and the lady that answered would not let me get anything out. She answered the phone and I told her what I was calling for and she just says " if it shows that is missing its missing no way around that. we mailed you a letter it should be there in 7-10 days. Send new photos and we can proceed." She didn't ask for any info or anything. Is that a normal response? I am a little mad at the way she answered like I was bothering her or lying to her. I have read on here where others have had this happen and they called and were told not to worry that they do in fact have all the information, but this lady just wanted this liar (me)of her phone. I have no problem sending in the photos if they are truly missing but I just wanted them to make sure they didn't receive them. What do you guys think am I over reacting or is it fair for me to assume that they could take maybe 5 minutes just to make sure before delaying the whole process?

We've all been there at one time or another. When I was on the wait list, I called and e-mailed several times. Most of the time it was what seemed to be a canned response. The best thing is just to have a lot of patience. All good things come to thee who waits.

They lost my photos as well, i received a letter saying such and sent the photos again. I still got my plastic only one day after a buddy that mailed his the same exact time as mine. It was no big deal really.

I even had one tell me I could call my state representative. At this point, I am contimplating it, as I took a renew with one some time back. I do not appreciate the arrogance, at all.

All I really wanted was something like " let me have your info and I will check". Oh well I have extra photos because I took the Utah class at the same time I did the Texas class. I'll just wait until I receive the letter and mail them the other set of photos. Now does anybody know if while they wait for the pictures the process goes on hold or do they continue with the process?

Unless DPS gives you the answer, no one on this forum can know 100% for certain.

that being said, others who have had missing documents, photos, fingerprints, etc, have received their plastic, in similar (within a couple days) time frame as those that had all documents, photos, etc with their packages to begin with.

So - my guess, is things do not stop, they just jump around to what else they can validate, and if all validation is done prior to getting the missing info/photos, etc, they will get those once received.

At Instructor school we talked about it.
They know Charles Cotton well.
He has been very influiential in helping them & us simplify the process.

I have not posted before but will throw my .02cent in now.

I have been on the phone & email w/ them.
I am not very good on computer. What you see here is my ablolute max & that is stretched.
I have thought some times that I was warting them to death w/ tirvia (to them) but hard for me. Help was polite, courteous, & prompt.

A good start goes a long way toward a good finish.

Believe me guys I didn't get anything more than "I am calling to find out about the online status shows that my photos were missing" that was all I got out. No name or personal info. Now I am not saying stop everything and look for the pictures or anything like that it just kinda felt like a hurry and get em of the phone type thing. Anyways its been a week and still no letter plus I have to call them on Monday and change my address since I just moved so I will ask about it again then.

When I needed to make a change to my zip code while my renewal was being processed I called and sent an email as well. On the phone the lady who helped me was quite polite and took time to help me. I said I had also sent an email. The email response I got back was very short but said the change was made. I have called/emailed DPS a few times over the years and really have no complaints.

I think it just depends on the person you come into contact with. Everyone is human. There are so many factors to take into account. Does that excuse rudeness? No. In that situation I would have just called back and tried to get someone else and sent a follow up email. No worries DPS will help you.

Ok so to answer my own question above no they don't stop the process. My fingerprints went to complete this morning.
