Congrats!

And 59 days, during the FBI Census Fingerprinting, so another 'built-in' delay.
So all-in-all, it sounds good for basically 2 delays

Wally Walk completed this morning with no issues. Was not worried in the store but was a little paraniod riding the motorcycle over there as I keep thinking that my shirt was riding up in the wind. SuperTuck rocks.

Awesome! I made it to Walgreeen's using the Safepacker on Wednesday night. Wife wanted some candy so I took the 6-year-old who was surprisingly uninterested in the new addition to the wardrobe. Carried to the in-laws house in the Kholster IWB last night. No one noticed. :cool: Wally Walk to come when I can get someone to go with me to take photos.

Texas Dan Mosby,
Can you post your stats?

Have you contacted DPS via phone or email?
If so, what have they said?
Who have you talked to/emailed with?

Here's the stats IAW TX online...

* Application : Received
* Fingerprints : Under review
* Affidavits : Received
* DL or ID : Valid
* Citizenship : No documentation required
* Passport photo holder : Received
* Photo : Received
* Proof of Classroom training : Received
* Proof of Proficiency training : Received
* Proof of Special Condition : Received
* Fee : Received
* Background Check : Under review
* Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

I sent an email last week to the address referenced at the online site, which was promptly responded to the next day with...

"Your prints and background are still under review...."

Very insightful information indeed.

Being a service member, I think the hold up is the fact that I have had 5 different addresses in the past 5 years due to deployments to sunny Iraq, and a permanent change of station. Combine 2 different TX counties, one in FL, one in WA, and a "we'll get to it whenever" attitude, and I could be looking at a new record for longest application completion time imo...

No tickets, no arrests, and I've held either a S or TS security clearance for the past 20 years.

Go figure...

My app was delivered by hand to DPS 4/22
It was a long wait and I contacted DPS twice throughout the process only to receive generic answers.
Good luck with the wait TxDan.

28/29 Apr 10 - App received by DPS IAW certified mail

14 May - App appears online. All show good to go. Prints and background check show "under review"

4 Jun - Online check shows Fingerprints rejected

7 Jun - Electronic prints taken by L1 solutions
-Gal at L1 says they Email them the same day. DPS rep I talked to that day said it takes 24-48 hours for their system to update.

9 Jun - Online check shows prints have changed from "rejected" back to "under review"

11 Jun - Receive letter from DPS dated 8 Jun stating my prints were rejected, recommends L1 services for electronic prints. LOL!

22 Jun - Email sent to DPS asking why no progress has been made in either my print review or background check.

23 Jun - DPS responds in email saying, "The fingerprints have been received. We are waiting on the results of the backgrounds based on the fingerprints."

As of 30 Jun - Prints and background still listed as "under review"

I was 7 days ahead of you and just got mine today. I bet you will be over the background check any day. I feel your pair waiting and watching others get processed before you.
It's a crazy system they have over at DPS.
