I just thought of something.
With the new way (as of May 1) of applying, I wonder if there is more back-end work that has to be done for manufacturing than before?
Regardless, one would think that I was complete or near complete before the May 1st changeover. I don't understand how it takes so long to print these suckers up? The DMV can get a new license printed in a couple of days. Hopefully she was just being conservative with her dates when she said one to two weeks, but it has already been a week since it's been "sent to manufacturing". :grumble :headscratch :waiting:

To hold myself over, I just ordered a Glock 19 from Buds. I keep telling myself it's for the wife, but it's not. It will compete with my FNP9 to be my carry/IDPA weapon. :fire :fire

That would seem possible but your application went in the same day my wife's and mine did and yours hit the new system as Manufacturing the same day mine did. Mine went to Mailed two days later and yours is still in Manufacturing. None of that makes sense as a matter of the process except that my guess is that the applications are handled in batches and we were in different batches (process techs?) and yours will clear more quickly than the lady suggested it would. The comment of 1-2 weeks sounds like a pat answer to cover all the bases.

HighHandicap...Who knows why one person gets their plastic in 30 days and others like you and me takes longer.
From the time they received mine until I received my plastc a total of 56 days went by.
I have never had any contact with law enforcement, never had any sort of judgement against me,not behind on any sort of taxes or state or federal loans.
I am squeaky clean.
So who knows. :headscratch

I understand what you're saying. My best guess, as others have suggested, is that it just depends on which one of the Techs gets your application. There are probably other factors that come into play like living in other states and moving around a lot. I just strive to find some logic in it all and it frustrates me that there isn't any.

I usually only check my mail once or twice a week, but since I learned I was approved last Saturday, I've been checking every day even though it would seem they haven't mailed it to me yet. It's a sickness!

HH, after all this grief, if you live in the Houston (south) area, after you get your plastic, I will have to take you out for a beer (weapon-less of course!)

Teamless, I'm up in Austin, but I get down to Katy every month or two. Next time I'm heading down there, I'll send you a PM. Heck, I might even be down there on the same weekend as an IDPA type match.

Well Teamless, it won't be any consolation to you, but my plastic didn't show today. I figured today was the earliest given a supposed mailing date of 05-04-10 since it should only be one day from Austin to Houston but it didn't show up. Of course, the signal that was "Mailed" may only mean the Tech put it in box for the mail crew to take the next step. Maybe tomorrow will be the day, will keep you posted.

HH, I am continuing to follow your saga and it drives me nuts but just hang tough... it will happen. Regarding the G19, you made a good choice. It's for sure a very reliable weapon. I have never had a single FTE, FTF, etc. with the Glock. Of the three I have, they haven't given me a bit of grief no matter what the ammo is I pump through them. You have to love that.

I'm still carrying the G19 and G26 on a daily basis and trying to decide which will be my primary. The G26 hides a bit better but the G19 is such a sweet piece.

Best luck to you...

I gotta tell ya... waiting for the mail to arrive was the most frustrating of all the steps. Who'd a thunk it would take 4 days to mail something from Austin to Houston?
