Thanks. The wait time seemed reasonable. I really thought it would get kicked back because of the fingerprints but all must have been ok.

Thanks AddyLo,

Sundays are horrible.

One Huge problem tho. I don't own an Hawaiian shirt for my Wally Walk once I get the license. Really, I didn't have a clue that Hawaiian shirts were secret code for "I am armed and obvious" I really didn't.

Will I have my CHL suspended if I do my Wally Walk without a Hawaiian shirt? Do I need to go shopping today?

No Hawaiian shirt, huh? Hmmm... you have until tomorrow to get that problem worked out. :rules:

There are specific rules for buying the right Hawaiian shirt. Go down to the local truck stop (you know the one - they sell everything from bobble-head dolls to ammo) and pick out the loudest, gaudiest shirt they have. A coconut or palm tree pattern is perfectly acceptable. Pink flamingos should probably be avoided (unless you live in Austin). If the shirt costs you more than $9.95 then you are doing something wrong. If it is free when you buy a 12 pack then you're golden. No self-respecting male would own anything less (or should that be "more"?).

I'll never understand why these critical points aren't part of the CHL class material.

I am back from shopping. I almost feel guilty. I have found the most heinous all Rayon faux hawaiian shirt know to man. I will post pictures later once the wife gets home.

This is gonna be funny.

No time to post pics, but it is glorious. All black Rayon with HUGE coconut trees with mountains in the background and quotes saying "Land of Aloha" all over. It is even upside down on one sleve. I did buy it right off of a beach, close to Maui, at the Target in Pearland TX. Ok, maybe not so close to Maui.

Just don't get me close to an open flame in this shirt!

If I am not "made" by the first off duty cop in this shirt as a CHL, I don't know what else would do it.

Waiting for the license..

Sounds like an absolute crime against humanity. You get an A+!! "rlol" "rlol" "rlol"

I'm betting tomorrow is your day for plastic. Hang in there!

So who else do we have still waiting from the March list? I know Teamless is still in "Processing". Anyone else?

I'm about 4 days behind Teamless. I'm exhibiting all of the signs of CAS (CHL Anticipation Syndrome); Reading posts from other users and (politely) cursing their good fortune, Checking the DPS website for status with every free moment, Checking the status of my CrossBreed order, Sifting through my closet for my loudest Hawaiian shirt.

This is nearly as bad as BRD (Black Rifle Disease). The only reason CAS isn't as bad is because you can only get one CHL in Texas, but you can buy as many AR's as you want!

I have scheduled an "off site meeting" so I can get home early to check the mail. It's that bad.

- HighHandicap, by my best guess from others posts of late, my guess is my status should change on Thursday or Friday this week. Maybe that is optimistic, but also hopeful.
I figure if it is Thursday this week, then I should have plastic by Monday or Tuesday [Edited to add: which would be about 30 days from DPS receipt to plastic in hand, which seems to be the recent norm] (I just HOPE my Crossbreed is here by then, they are taking MUCH longer than I hoped - but not longer (yet) than their website says).
So if my estimate is right, and you are right behind me, then I hope we both (and everyone else) gets off the CAS quickly!

at least you did not justify the purchase of a droid based phone to check the status at work, heck doing that would take away about 1/2 of the money towards another nice weapon!
