I appreciate you posting this! It looks like your application arrived in Austin on the 4th, and went into processing on the 17th, meaning that there is currently about a 13-day gap between their receiving the paperwork and their beginning to process it.

I mailed mine on March 15th, and they received it on the 17th. That means that mine ought to change to "Processing Application" tomorrow or the next day.

I've already been checking the status every day (several times), but my status change isn't overdue for another day or two. That's a relief, I'm not behind!

This is actually exciting info for me as well. I took the class on the 28th and mailed in on the 1st so I'm following exactly the same path here. Now I'm clicking refresh even more often

Citizen J, maybe you could let us know when your status on the website changes. It might give the rest of us an idea when updates are made (as discussed in this thread). It would be interesting to see if it is updated by tomorrow morning.

We sent my wife's application in on Friday.
I sure hope it does not take as long as mine did.
Mine ran 118 days.
Some of my students have had them back in less than 30 lately.

I guess I get to join the rest of you March CHL applicants.

I took my CHL Class on 3/20/10 with Julianna at Capitol Area Practical Shooting. I have to say that was a really good course and could benefit people even if they weren't looking to carry. I completed my online app and paid 3/21/10. My packet and PIN were received 3/23/10. Mailed application via certified mail on 3/26/10, confirmation of delivery received 3/29/10.

DPS site still shows status as "Packet mailed to applicant." I guess I'll keep checking to see how things progress.

HighHandicap,

Welcome to the forum. You will find lots of helpful information and great people to deal with. The DSP is processing applications very quickly these days so hopefully your wait won't be too long. Feel free to ask any questions you have and I'm sure someone will be able to answer it for you.

Mine changed to "Processing Application" this morning, exactly 14 days after they received it in Austin.

Tomorrow is the 4th week since my packet was received in Austin and I'm getting itchy. Judging by what others are seeing it should be any day now. I have to confess I'm guilty of checking the website multiple times each day.

Still, all of us March apps should count ourselves lucky. It wasn't that long ago that the wait time was measured in multiple months. I don't know how they could stand it!
