It should be noted that I requested my PIN via email, once I saw my check clear the bank. I still haven't received the PIN in the mail.

How in the heck did you get it in 17 DAYS!? Any trick/secret you did, SHARE!

You know "Someone" don't you?

haha... I literally do not know anyone. Actually just moved to TX in Nov. I've lived and gone to school in a total of 2 counties (incl. here in TX), clean record, made sure everything was legible and filled out properly leaving no employment or residence dates unlisted. I gave the application to the DPS office in person where the clerk assured everything was filled out properly.

Unfortunately I don't have my plastic in hand yet, but I expect it on Monday, since it has been discussed here that once the site says "approved," it means the card is in the mail. I was hoping for today since I live in Austin but I guess that was a little optimistic!

eta: rpecunia - nice spreadsheet!!

01/27/2010 - Recv'd PIN in mail : Processing Application

rpecunia, thanks for the spreadsheet info. If I stay in line with the current time line I may get my license before I get my pin.

It took me 120 days back in April on Brazoria county, I am Hoping from the positive post hers will be a whole lot shorter.
Wow! DPS cashed my check Jan 11, 4 days after recieving, a far cry from how long it took me back in April. I am stoked, guess I better get busy selecting my wifes carry method for her Sig P250-9mm
I guess I forgot to post my wifes processing times. Her app was changed to complete on Jan 28 and she recieved her plastic on Feb 2. Hope this didn't mess up the Excell spread sheet.
Nice job on the spread sheet.

ADD THIS TO THE SPREADSHEET

My middle daughter, rwood (not currently a poster here), and I hand delivered her paperwork to DPS on 1-19-10 and as of 2-5-10 status changed to 'Certificate Complete-License Issued'. That is quick.

She now says that I am her "favorite" Dad ever.

And her "faovrite" CHL instructor ever.

Gosh, it is nice to have good...and intelligent, kids.

rpecunia wrote:congrats on the new license holders this week !!!

on my end, i'm still watching, waiting and in the dang "processing application" holding pattern !!!

01/09/2010 - CHL class taken
01/11/2010 - Packet overnighted to DPS with money order
01/22/2010 - Received PIN via Email Request (same day)
01/22/2010 - Processing Application (not sure of exact date since I didn't have the PIN)
01/30/2010 - Received PIN via snail mail
xx/xx/xxxx - Application Complete
xx/xx/xxxx - Plastic in Hand
Email them. I emailed on Friday and the response was my license was being printed and I would receive it in a week. My status still hasn't changed.

edit: I feel honored to have made your spreadsheet
