Thanks everyone for the welcomes. The wait is on. It's bad enough, but being an IT guy I see all kinds of things that could be done to improve the process. Something as simple as putting a bar code on the return envelope (if you apply on line). When the app is recv'd the bar code is scanned and the status is updated. Simple stuff like that would probably save lots of phone calls. 8 days down, ??? to go.

The wait begins. Took my course on Oct 13th and walked my app in to DPS on the 14th. I am holster shopping now.

Welcome to the waiting room rlowe! You may want to start a time line to keep track of your status. And I hope your wait is a short one! :thumbs2:

Hey Dad24. I am an IT guy too. Knowing what I know about the ability of large companies and gov't to manage IT projects, I am impressed that they have an online site to check period. :)

Hello all, new Fort Worth applicant here. Just received my PIN letter today.

I have a Q: My current status is 'Processing Application'. Does this mean all the documentation (pictures, fingerprints, forms, etc.) are go for processing? Could I still have my packet or contents returned for resubmission?

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard, welcome to the forum! :tiphat: Congrats on the PIN #.

Processing Application means just that. The background investigations have started, concurrently they are reviewing your application. And yes you could have your packet returned based on a number of different reasons, the 2 most common being grainy passport photos, or bad fingerprints. If that happens you'll have it redone.

But let's think positive! ;-) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :thumbs2:

Well, the check was cashed on Oct 15. So I know that they have it now. On the holster thing I recieved my crossbreed supertuck and have worn it around the house a few times. It looks like I will need to get more britches or loose weight. ;-)
