The Boss will be out of town this weekend. If it arrives, I may have to prevail upon Joe's good nature to accompany me on the Wally Walk. That way the photos are more professionally done........I've been to the range with him, so I know his hands don't shake. Much.....

I have discussed the Wally Walk with the Boss, and if I remember correctly, one of the words she used often was "ridiculous", along with "men are so weird". I tried to explain rites of passage with her, but her eyes just glazed over........ "rlol"

Friday will be ya'lls day
I tend to agree ... Friday of next week! :cheers2: Btw, anyone from the July class call DPS to see if any of these recent approvals have actually been processed? Maybe the applications are just approved! Oh ... what a terrible thought.

usually if it says "completed" ...that means it has gone to the mail room .
not to say it won't sit in the mail room for a day or two .

Howdy fellow July applicants! :tiphat:

Well, I didn't want to post any more depressing "processing application" posts, so I waited until DPS gave me my "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" prompt to join up. Now I believe I am entitled to a little of this:
:woohoo :thewave :anamatedbanana :cheers2:

I guess I'm looking at about 120 days from start to finish. I made my first mistake by submitting my app. request online. It took DPS 6 weeks to mail it out to me. About week 4 I started calling them asking what the deal was, and was told they were backlogged. In week 6 I called and the lady told me that they had suffered a computer failure in May about the time that I had submitted my online request, and apparently it had never been sent and wouldn't have been sent if I hadn't of called. If I had just waited and gotten the app. from my instructor I could have submitted it two weeks sooner. Anyhoo, it looks like I got mine with about 54 days of processing, which is better than many here. That’s a blessing considering I lived in five different counties while in college and they had to check each one.

Also, I want to thank my friends from the goldismoney.info forum for telling me about this equally awesome forum.

Thanks,
-1981 :txflag:

I hope tomorrow is my lucky day!

The lady will be home so I will know at 11:00 in the morning instead of rushing home @ 15:30 after work to check it.

IF it comes in tomorrow, my first carry will be at the Marriott for the planning of my wedding, my luck it'll be posted 30.06 :smilelol5: :bigmouth

I finally got my plastic yesterday 9/10. They didn't even use my passport photos that I paid to retake at wal-greens the day I turned it in, but whatever it only took 60 days to get the license!

Anytime you're ready amigo, just give the word, and I'll be there. Just make sure the camera has a high speed shutter lens when my hands start to shake!

Awwww man.......well maybe tomorrow. It's raining outside and has been all day. Maybe the pony express from Austin had to hold up in Salado because the rider's didn't want to get wet! "rlol"

There was a post in another area of this forum that said that the printing and mailing steps have slowed down due to the volume. Seems like it may have added more days to the process. Here is the cut & paste quote.
My friend who has been waiting for his plastic finally got fed up and called today. His app went to completed 11 days ago and still no CHL. Basically he was told that literally thousands of licenses went to print in the last two weeks and that after printing they are reviewed and mailed. While the person he spoke with didn't come right out and say it, he was led to believe that completed/printed licenses do often sit in the mailroom or wherever for any number of days before going out. He was told "If you don't see it in another week let us know".
So I am still thinking late next week, if I am lucky.
