And the story continues...

05/02/2009 - CHL class completed

05/06/2009 - Mailed application to DPS

05/08/2009 - Return Receipt received from DPS

06/19/2009 - PIN received from DPS

08/23/2009 - Email sent to DPS requesting status

08/27/2009 - Called and spoke with DPS, application complete, but tech is still reviewing background check...

09/01/2009 - 117 days and waiting

09/02/2009 - Called DPS at 8:30am and was re-directed to the tech, "Mary Anne", who's voice mail stated Aug. 31st and to leave a message. So I did.

09/02/2009 - DPS email reply/response: "At this time we are awaiting the completion of the background investigation. Thank you for your continued
patience."

09/02/2009 - Called DPS back at 4:30pm and again was re-directed to my tech, "Mary Anne", again voice mail dated Aug. 31st. Used "0" option and got
back to main CHL line and asked if my tech was in and I was told she hadn't been seen. Asked if anyone else could help me and I was told no.
Asked who her supervisor was and was told "Leo" was her supervisor but that I needed to give my tech 48 hrs. to call back. I asked if she is out
or on vacation I just have to wait? I thanked the young lady who was helping me and said it has been almost 120 days and this greatly
exceeds the "magic" number of "60 days"... again thanked her and stated that I would call back in 48 hrs. for Leo, if my tech fails to return my
calls.

09/04/2009 - Called DPS back at 11:15am and asked to be forwarded to my tech, Mary Anne.
The young lady who answered asked me for my information and I complied.I expalined that I had left messages for my tech but that I beleive she may be out can I confirm? The youg lady who was taking my call was speaking with another female in the background and I could hear another female tell her to send me to Mary Anne's voicemail. She did. I left an additional message on a voice mail message dated Aug. 31st requesting a call that I had left previous messages and was told to give her 48 hrs. and that again I am complying with all of their request.

Randy sounds like you are in the same boat I'm in still waiting on background check.
When I asked how long they been doing it the lady told me that they could have up to 180 days to do it but they don't like to tell people that. :nono:
She also said that it will not take 6 months :headscratch
Luckly you have Mary Anne I got Gilligan :smilelol5:

Wow. I didn't understand the frustration others are having until now. I sent in my app in Late May. It's approaching 100 days and still "Processing".

I've called numerous times and left many voicemails. Still nothing. No one will give me a status on my application and want to send me to the agent processing my app. That would be great if that person would pick up her damn phone. *sigh*

Well I've been traveling out of town this week and didn't bother to take my laptop. I got home and when I got to this site and checked the May thread, I was shocked at the number of people who are through processing. Congratulations All!

Needless to say, I immediately went to check my status and it said ... Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
Woo-Hoo!

I don't know what day it happened this week, maybe I should run over to the mailbox right now! :rock" :anamatedbanana
