Yes I am aware DPS is not advocating managing my health care friend. I am referencing in a broader sense the Government in general and Government "services"....

Ah. And therein lies the logical fallacy that may be driving some frustration. Can't legitimately extend the experience one has with one state organization with the entire federal government. Well, one can, but it's not a rational conclusion. But your conclusion to draw any way you like!

Well, we are neck and neck. I am betting with my luck, I'll still be in here until I am older and grayer! They'll probably send me a detailed letter in the year 2029 saying my pictures are out of date, that a guy that old can't possibly be able to hold a gun, much less aim and fire it..... :cryin

Or I'll have to redo the range test using a Star Trek phaser set on "stun"....... :coolgleamA:

Or I'll have to put new batteries in my lightsaber.......

I guess the "Force" is not with me this evening......perhaps it needs a kickstart.. :cheers2:

I sent mine 7/1, so I'm hoping I'll be one of the first July-ers to receive the license.

Hope those in the July group are seeing the results from the June group? Here is a cut & paste ... about 60 days or so. I may have to re-adjustment my time frames in the signature line!

CHL class; 6/27/09
Mailed packet 6/29/09
Check cashed 07/07/09
Pin received 7/20/09; “processing application”
Application Completed-License issued or certificate active 9/02/09
----

Avoiding Condition White as best as I can.

You'd better believe it.

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

I know it was still processing as of Monday, so I was turned around in less than seven weeks.

Time to go holster shopping!
If I had a gun for every ace I have drawn, I could arm a town the size of Abilene.

Thanks! I live in Travis County. I'm sure it helps that I have had the same residence and workplace during the entire timespan of interest.

I need to check with my dad - I think he sent his in within a day or two of me. He's in Jackson County, so it will be interesting to see if that makes any difference.

Remember, as of September First, the DPS Technicians/Other Employees can Run the BG checks now. It does not have to be a LEO Anymore!
They're probably running BG checks out the Wazoo there now! 30 seconds each, instead of 30 days!

I heard about the changes at DPS, and the number of apps getting approved seems to verify the accuracy of the rumors. Of course, there is always the possibility they are just taking care of the people in this forum, so everyone will quit calling them everyday, and slowing down their servers by checking their status all day long.......... :biggrinjester:

Just kidding!! No one here would do anything like that.........Would they??? "rlol"
