BrianSW99 wrote:Day 105 for me now. I've kept mostly quite so far and have refrained from calling or contacting elected officials. I have however sent 3 emails to DPS requesting an update on my status, all since I passed 90 days and all of which have gone unanswered. Now I'm seeing people in June already getting their licenses and I'm starting to get upset. I'm not even in Harris or one of the other notoriously long counties down along the coast. I've lived in the same house, same job, both in the same county for the last 5 years, and have never been arrested. This shouldn't be a difficult app to process.

I'm not going to be silent any more. I just emailed my State Representative, Senator, and the Governor. I'll be calling DPS tomorrow and the others as well if I don't get a response to my email. I'm also going to send in the form letter requesting a denial hearing that Charles posted. It might not get it done any sooner, but at least I'll feel like I'm doing something about it.
I have noticed some comments recently that lead me to believe that post 90 days they are not really pro on getting a reply in print.

Wonder why
Course 5/2
Mailed packet 5/4
Application Processing 6/10
After reprints and all FINALLY 8/5 Plastic!

DPS called me Tuesday to tell me that my application was complete and that my license should be in my mail box in a week or two. Today my status changed to "Application Complete- license issued or certificate active." So I have to give Rep. John Davis a little credit. But not until it's in the mailbox! :clapping:

Thanks for the help reps, not even a phoney I care about you letter, but there is nothing I can do!! I guess we will all be better when we just act like sheeple.

I also wrote the gov., I got some response about sending letter to dps head and wanted follow up with me and gov's office of course no word for weeks. Then when I wrote the gov again no response!! Imagine that!!! Just imagine if I did not pay my taxes how quickly I would get a vistor or a "letter". :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Just loving the system!!!!
Well I stand corrected I got a form letter today from Patrick. Thank you Mr Patrick. :txflag:

Good point lazypineapple! I thought about that a month ago, but said nothing('cause I forgot to).

Summer vacation just HAS to contribute to some of the slowdown in the approval process. You are the first person to point that out. Thanks! :tiphat:

Lol, Seriously though, I've had an all expenses paid 2 week gift trip to the Bahamas sitting waiting for me for 4 years now, simply because there has been no way for me to take 2 weeks off :banghead:

Maybe some day I'll get to take it...

Tell Me!!!! I never had a job, where I could take 2 weeks off....ever. I could only take off 1 week a year, even though I got 2 weeks/yr. I'd take the other week spread over the remainder of the year...a day here, a day there. That's what I get for being "indispensable". yeah right.

So how are most people counting? I see some counting from the time they took their class, some counting from when their checks were endorsed, and some of us counting from the time DPS actually received our apps. From what date are we supposed to count? (personally, I always thought it was the day they got your app, but what do I know. :yawn )
May 16-17: Class taken
May 26: Completed app received by DPS
June 29: PIN sent
July 3: PIN received - status "processing"
