Well after the painfull half our on hold. I was told the normal "waiting on background check, call back in the second week in September" Well my CHL will be a great Christmas gift?!
you must have talked to the same id10t I did and he made mention of they received my missing info on July 15 so it should be complete by mid September now when I spoke to them after faxing them the missing info they said it should be done in about a month that was close to a month ago. I think it is the blanket answer I am tempted to call everyday just to see how many different answers I can get.

My 90 day mark was 8/11/09 so I called today and was fortunate enough to speak with a very nice lady there. I asked "I'd like to find out what is the problem with my application" - instead of my usual "can you tell me the status of my application". After verifying who I was, she stated, "No sir, there's nothing wrong. In fact, we've gotten back all your back ground checks and they are finishing the review... it should go to print next week". I said "so are you saying it's approved or will be and don't forsee any issues or what?" And she said "Yes, that's correct." :woohoo

I now feel very confident that all will continue to go through and I might even have plastic in hand in 1-2 weeks. Hang in there guys... Our time is coming! :txflag:

:thumbs2: congrats, hope you get your plastic sooner! At least you know they are not going in order, my app was turned in a full two weeks earlier. But when you ask them "nothing is wrong just call back in the second week of september."

Hello everyone, well I called DPS to see what was going on with my application (90 Day mark and counting)since I have not hear nothing back on the emails I sent. The lady I spoke to was extremely nice and went out of her way to see were things stood. Apparently she told me the script line on all CHL reps regarding the “taking more than usual time to process background checks for my region “Harris County". I asked if there was anyway we can do to have this pushed and she simply stated to contact our state reps and push for streamline procedures for the field agents working the region(s) surrounding Harris Co, Brazoria and Galveston.

Hopefully for all the folks that are past the 90-120 day mark this will help as well.

Well, I hit the 93 day mark since delivery to Austin. (and I even had app from DPS in hand when I went to the class) Maybe I should follow the lead of so many others and start making phone calls to try to end this insufferable wait....

Called up DPS on Wendsday, the person that I spoke with said that my app was on hold, but she could not tell me why. She transfered me to the tech who was working on my app. Well, more accuratly, she tranfered me to the tech's voicemail, so I left a message.

I called back today and was told that my app had cleared and my info was being sent to the printer and I should have it in three to 4 weeks. Three to four weeks seems a bit long just, we'll see what happens.

08/26/09 Online status changed to Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
