Re: April 2009 Applications
I just stated that Texas was a shall issue state, and that after over 120 days they could not find a reason to deny me why had I not received my CHL? There was a little more to it, but it was through their web site and I do not have the exact text.
Here is the response I received.

Mr. FEH
Dear Mr. H:
Thank you for taking the time to contact the Office of the Governor.
I am asking Colonel Steven C. McCraw, Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, for
his staff’s assistance in reviewing and responding both to you and this office on the information
shared.
Please let us know whenever we may be of service in the future.

I don't want to pop any bubbles, but I email Gov. Perry's office last Thursday and here is the PDF file that was sent to me;FishermanCool wrote: Here is the response I received.

I was actually hoping it wasn't a form letter, but I guess that popped as well. I did however email Gov. Perry's office again this morning - I guess we'll see how Dede responds to that one.

I'll keep you updated on if I receive anything from Dede (or the "office") today. I have a feeling I won't.

Re: April 2009 Applications
I knew it, if the Gov.'s office was going to contact me today they would have done it by now. The first email I received from Dede was within about two hours of me sending mine in - it's 7 or 8 hours later now. I guess we could contact Greg Abbott and claim rights as a consumer being violated? (long-shot I know).Aladinbama wrote:Sorry!FishermanCool wrote:Well Aladinbama, you sure busted my bubble this morning. But thanks for the heads up.

Re: April 2009 Applications
The saga continues;
A representative from Representative Weber's office returned an email today. In her email she mentioned a "felony" arrest which (according to DPS) I put on my application in Alabama that needed to be checked out.
I did put an arrest on my application - a misdemeanor arrest that I pled guilty to being a "Youthful Offender" to when I was 19. I was given 3 months unsupervised probation and all records were to be destroyed on my 21st Birthday. All this was put on the application because I wanted to be honest even though they are not going to find any record of it anywhere (they'll probably use me lying on my application - reporting something that didn't happen as another excuse). One of the things that gets me about this whole process - I have a Federal FFL, that proves I must be guilty of something, right?
I beginning to believe it's time for that hearing - otherwise, I won't see anything plastic (from DPS anyway) for a long time.
Day 117 and counting
I guess being honest doesn't pay off afterall.
