Took the class on April 18. Mailed it in on April 20th. Got my license in the mail Aug. 1st. Three months and one week or so. AND... learned we are going to have our FIRST grandchild... all in the same day! Life is good.

See you guys around. I'll be looking for a bulge in your pants... Oops! That didn't sound quite right... I'll be looking to see who ELSE is carrying... there, that's what I meant. Hang in there all... there IS an end to the waiting madness. Plastic looks good and I'm even pleased with my picture. Wish I could find a smaller gun. I'm a small guy and need something that won't pull my pants down (I have no butt... I'm 5'8" and weigh 150). Suggestions? (After all, I'd look fairly conspicuous in Wal-Mart walking around with my pants around my knees!)

Congratulations on the grandchild, and the CHL. :cheers2:

As for suggestions....drink more beer :) Actually my wife has a Bersa 380 Thunder CC and it sits in the pocket in a Galco 456 holster that breaks the line up great and keeps the pistol upright. Fits in my shorts and you wouldn't know it was there. When my plastic gets here I will probably carry a Glock 19 in a IWB.

:tiphat:

Of course find .380 is a challenge.

Rod, it sounds as if you need a GOOD belt, designed for concealed carry.

Regular wimpy belts don't cut it.

congratulations Rodrockinoff :thumbs2:

that pants thing seems to be all the rage with the young kids these days .

i have tried 3 methods of carry .
IWB ,OWB, but for me , the most comfortable way seems to be ye ole fanny pack for everyday carry .
the one i have is a cheap one that i dug out of the closet from my days of going to six flags ,

its a very slim design , just big enough for my gun .
since i wear my shirts out , it doesn't show . and if it did , its just a fanny pack .

im still experimenting . ;-)

I tell you what. These people never cease to amaze me. Tuesday, I got a phone call from DPS stating my app. has been completed and I should receive by Friday. Saturday, I receive this.

"The application is near completion. Thank you for your continued patience."

Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing? :headscratch

Went for a bike ride to Galveston Saturday, so didn't get to the post office. Will go later this morning. Hope license is there, so I can e-mail back to this person, and ask them, if they know what is going on. :confused5

Mine was received in Austin on or about April 25th (been so long, I might be off by a day or so), and the online status is still "Processing Application". Haven't called yet (not really my thing to be impatient).
