The wait is over. Didn't expect it, but my plastic arrived in the mail on July 3rd. The total time from application submittal to actually receiving the CHL was 90 days by my count. I live in Nueces County if anyone was wondering. During the whole process, I only contacted DPS once to check on the status of my application and that was Friday (Jul 2nd). After the conversation with the DPS Customer Service Rep, I was under the impression my CHL was being sent to the printer and would be mailed in approximately 2 weeks according to the information provided. But it must have been mailed several days prior to that. My status actually changed to Application Complete - Certificate Issued when I checked this morning ( July 4th). A little strange to have received the CHL before the status changed on-line. Obviously the status is not always updated the way you would have expected it to. But, no complaints from me. Hopefully this information might be of so help to the rest of the April Forum. Good luck and I hope the wait for the rest of you are not long. :anamatedbanana

My status also changed overnight. Unlike you though, I haven't received mine in the mail as yet and with today being a holiday, there is no mail delivery :-)

Yep, came back to add my father, who actually had issues, just checked last night and his status changed to application issued as well.

He was born out of the country, so they sent him a letter to send a photocopy of his passport/green card/etc. to prove his citizenship.

Even with that delay, he was only 1-2 days after me or possibly even at the same time

Your time line almost mirrors mine exactly and I'm in Tarrant County. Maybe that bodes well for all the folks in Harris County.
