same here no resubmit and still the wait.

I have decided to get mad today. I am super busy at work but i need to get some of my focus off of work so what a better outlet than the DPS.

On day 102 here... Don't live in Harris county, but I did for the last three months of the necessary 5yr history....lame. So I am still waiting on my background check from that lone DPS worker in Harris county. I am moving in one week...I had asked them to change my address on my application three weeks ago, even faxed them a document stating so. Just called this morning and it has not changed, lady didn't even have a record of my request, yet she said.."well, if you faxed it in , then we probably gave it to the person who is in charge of your application, so I wouldn't worry about it". If I finally get my plastic and it is the wrong address, therefore making me pay again to have the address changed...I will be super *irritated. How incompetent can DPS possibly be, it astounds me.

Thought the hard part was over for me. Status changed 3 days ago, but no plastic yet. I'm betting they are shipping it via boat and I'll have to wait for some rain to come and fill up the local streams to get the boat here. Might be a while?????

Day 95 today and 65 days since PIN issue. I don't understand the delay since I live and work in Hays and Travis county the last 10 years! Maybe taking the class in Hood County...

My state Rep is Patrick M. Rose and Senator Jeff Wentworth, wonder if they can help any?

Plastic in hand. It took somewhere around 90 days depending on how you look at it. I live in Brazos County. I lived at three different addresses in the last five years, no criminal history, honorably discharged veteran. I'm satisfied.

Day 90 and Harris County here. Called DPS and was told my background check was done. :thumbs2: She then told me they needed to finish processing it. :confused5 I asked her to clarify what "finish processing" meant. She said they had to recheck everything and then send it to manufacturer and then when it gets back from the manufacturer they need to recheck it to make sure everything is correct...call back in 2 weeks. :eek6 :confused5

I assume "manufacturer" meant the printer and I should have asked her to clarify but when she said call back in two weeks it totally threw me off guard. TWO weeks to finish processing? WTH were they doing while WAITING for the background check? I'm sorry but inefficiencies really get my goat and then you add the fact that we're actually paying for these inefficiencies on top of it all. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Sent another letter to my Reps. Not addressing my application specifically but the whole process in general. I've become disinterested in "why" at this point and am concentrated on what are you doing to correct it. I encourage others to do so as well. The system is not working as intended and allowing it to operate as such will not address the problems. Believe it or not our elected officials do work for us so get involved. No ranting....be to the point but civil. :patriot:

I broke down and called DPS just now and they are waiting for a background check from Harris County?
I don’t get that one, I worked for a contracting company based in Houston but I never worked there?
Boy the lame stuff they do.
Anyway that’s all they’re waiting on and the lady said it should only be a couple more weeks until I have it.

Called DPS today and was told all is in and the are finishing it. :clapping: Call back in two weeks to see if it is done. :banghead: I don't know if calling my state rep helped or if it finally just came thru but this is only about a week since I called my rep. I live in Galveston county and work in Harris County. So these are finally starting to come through.

I also broke down and called DPS today and "enquired about my application" Still waiting on Harris county to complete the Background Investigation...... Was told probably another Month........... I cannot beleive how SLOW Harris county is in completing their part of the application process. This is a sad display of just how Inept our State Government has become!!
