Pistol 40 was that for a renewal or new lic?

I now have a big issue, i am having a hard time finding my carry gun. So everyone as you are looking for yours keep an eye out for a Beretta px4 storm subcompact 9mm :)

I might have to carry full size for a few weeks.

Does anyone know how often do they update the DPS CHL site? Once a day? As your application is processed?

It is my understanding they don't update till your license is ready! So with that said as long as you see Processing application, your in good shape. However if you see an application problem it will be updated at that time too. You will receive a letter in the mail explaining the problem/s.

Hang in there! :thumbs2:

I guess I'm back in business. After they received my missing information it took about a week to get back to "application processing". No point in throwing a fit about it anymore. It will get here when it gets here :) And to the user that submitted it on February and got it in April...LUCKY DAWG!!!! :)

Alright now........I'm getting tired of waiting. They just keep telling me that they are waiting on my background checks to come back. To those who have gotten their licenses (assuming you still check in on us pee-ons who are still waiting :) ) Did you have more than one address listed on your previous address section? I had three, seeing as I graduated from college within the last 5 years...and moved twice at A&M. So I'm wondering if that is what is taking so long....

I'm moving once again back to Houston at the end of May and i'm just hoping it gets here before then. Otherwise that just sounds like it'll take forever to change it to my new address before they even issue it......... :banghead:

Congrats... :cheers2:

Now, I am wishing I lived somewhere other than Harris County since I am on the exact same timeline and my background check from Harris County has not yet been completed and returned. Seeing as how it takes 2 to 3 weeks to print after that is finally done, I am going to guess I will not be seeing my license for quite a while :mad5

That is all I am hearing as well... waiting for the BC... I have lived in the same house and worked in the same job for more than 5 years. I do not have so much as a speeding ticket on my record... no child support or tax issues... so, it seems to me, my background check remains in some pile somewhere waiting for someone to notice it. Since my pin was issued on March 9th, I am going to guess that they have had it for close to 40 days now and no one has been able to get to it. That can't be very good news for all of the March and April applicants in Harris County either. No one seems to have any plans to get assistance to the one lone trooper handling all of the background checks in Harris County. Getting really frustrated... :banghead:

I know I shouldn't be checking the site every day. But I do. It's like a compulsion. I can't not check. And each time, I see the same thing... "Processing application".

It's almost like a game. They want to see how long it takes before people can't just patiently wait anymore, and start calling them and sending emails, desperate for info. Desperate to be told anything other than, yet again... "Processing application".

I've been good so far. I haven't called or emailed. That would just slow them down even more. That's what I tell myself, anyway. And it is good to come here and see others from the February applications who are actually getting their cards. It gives a bit of hope, just a little. A little hope that some day I'll see something other than... "Processing application".

But to be honest, I'm starting to be a little concerned. No, not that I'll never get my card. I'm sure that will happen, eventually. Probably not this month. Maybe not next month either. But eventually. And then I'll see something other than... "Processing application".

And when that happens, I'm concerned that I'll be so shocked that I'll have a heart attack and keel over dead on the spot. ;-)

05/16/09 - Plastic in hand

You know, I was shocked, myself. I had pretty much decided that it was going to be another month or more. But I thought, "what the heck, I'll just check the site again since it has passed the 60 day window." (I had checked on Wednesday, just two days before.) So, I was really surprised when I saw that it had changed.

Now, of course, it will probably be two or three more weeks before they get around to printing and mailing it.

I live in Tarrant county and wasn't at all sure they would do the background check quickly. I had hoped it would go faster since I have lived in the same place for lots of years and worked at the same location (also in Tarrant county) lots of years. But I wasn't counting on it.

Now I am shocked! Look at my sig line. In the mailbox today was an envelope from the DPS Regulatory Licensing Service. In disbelief I opened it up and found.... my Concealed Handgun License! I have it in my hands (which makes it hard to type, though.) The envelope is postmarked 4/16/2009. How they did the turn-around so quickly, I don't know.

Wow, I am legal to carry now! It is hard to believe. :hurry:

Maybe this means they are getting caught up and the others will break loose, soon, too.
