Renewal Question

#1

Post by JimBob »

Do they send out any notification that they recieved your renewal and are working on it?

I checked the status on the webpage today and it said processing or whatever but that might be from my first application not my renewal.

thanks

They do not.

And....the "Processing" is for your renewal, not your previous license. When your previous license was issued it changed from "Processing" to "License Issued". Now it has changed back to "Processing" for your new renewal. :cheers2:

i wish I knew 45-60 days was a joke. I would have taken the class much earlier.

This has to be some type of rights violation for those renewing. I mean if it takes over 6 months to renew it is impossible to have a CHL the entire time.

So they got my renewal on 1-26-09 and today is around 60 days, should I start writing letters or is 60 the new 45?

Both of my reps are Dems, should I even bother writing them?

Wow, this is depressing. Mine expires in two weeks and I just mailed my package in 2 weeks ago. (Yes, I procastinate.)

I hope not to regret being unarmed while the DPS takes their time. It's my fault so I only have myself to blame, but I was hoping it'd be around 45 days, not 70+.

Time to carry OC spray and a good knife I guess. Good thing for the MPA I can have one in my car at least.

Well it has been 70 days for me so unless you planned way ahead, being without a CHL would be pretty hard to do.

Once it takes longer than 6 months it should be criminal. Our certificate expires after 6 months I think.

Well, mine took about 60 days....not bad, relatively speaking. I sent my packet on 3/31 and today it's showing "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". I did my initial app online, that may have sped it up a bit.

Finally..........

That's one of the reasons to have a nonresident license. There are others but I won't hijack this thread.
