Thought I'd post my wife's process times here. I've got backup now when we go out! :clapping:

App received by DPS 12/6/08
Changed to "processing app" sometime the end of December.
"App Complete" 2/4/09.
Received license 2/6/09 by USPS.

Not too bad considering the holidays.

Did my wallywalk today. Had to do the grocery shopping anyway. Went great. Went to buy Ammo and they did not have any. Talked to the Sporing goods clerk to see if they expected any. About 15 minutes after I left to go to the Grocery isles I hear a page " Will the customer looking for 9mm please come back to sporting goods" :bigear: so I headed back over. They had gotten in 9mm and 40cal. I bought what I needed and thanked her.

Finished all my shopping and headed home.

all in all great day.

Congrats and very cool gzcp31.

I'm on day 68 here, DPS seems unconcerned, I wonder if they would be equally unconcerned if I was 8 days late paying a tax, err, I mean a traffic citation?

:evil2: Dear Texas Department of Public Safety Director Stanley Clark,

I am in receipt of your citation to appear in court regarding alleged failure to control speed on my part. I regret the delay in processing your request for payment. During the time your request was signed, I was overloaded at work, which caused a delay in the initial processing of your request. Additionally, my work centers around turbo machinery repair in a county affected by the catastrophic events and aftermath of Hurricane Ike, which further delayed your request.

I regret any inconvenience this may have caused. Rest assured as soon as it's convenient for me to submit payment, I will.

Tireshred

Think I could get away with this letter if I did have a citation? NO WAY! :evil2:
