Re: August Applications
I got the same thing when I called them yesterday...Ike...Ike...Ike, the gal I talked to was pretty unhelpful too. I'm less than 104 days, so I'm not feeling as much pain as you are(yet).

Re: August Applications
I am at 120 days. I called or e-mailed everyone I can think of. I think when the dps gives you the pin number that there own little sick joke. I am willing to bet they keep track of how many times you check it a day. I was told by the dps that there is only one trooper doing the Harris Co. background checks. The guy I talked to in Austin two weeks ago said he would get mine expedited since I have been waiting for so long. That has not happened.
07/27/08 took chl class

Re: August Applications
Yeah kind of messed up huh? Now instead of seeing how soon I get it I want to go for the record to see how long it takes! Not really but heres to hope that it comes soon. I told my wife I wouldn't buy anymore guns untill I got it. I hope there will be some left by then. Can't wait forever!

Contact the governors officesivart-dod wrote:I just called DPS...... and was given the same lame, boring excuse like always. "hurricane Ike" blah blah blah. The woman on the phone was completely unhelpful and practically hung up on me. She could not give me any information other than, Harris county and background check. Has anyone from Harris county gotten their CHL in here? she told me that MANY MANY people in Harris county are getting their CHL's. I find that highly unlikely.
What number do I need to call for the Houston DPS? I need to talk to someone. Its been 104 days, this is not right, they are just being LAZY, that's all there is to it.

Re: August Applications
I'm still here, but soon to be out the door. Status has changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active", so I am just waiting on the mail now. It was a pretty long wait.castrolr1 wrote:I guess i'm the last one here, Jan 15 will be five months since they cashed my check.. i'm tired of excuses

Re: August Applications
Still here too....
I'll be calling DPS tomorrow and if they're gonna give me the runaround I'll call the governors' office and see if there'es anything they can do.

Re: August Applications
Hello Everyone, this is my first post. I found this site not too long ago so I thought I would join today to tell you that my app was completed!!!!!
I was so happy to see these words : Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
It was a 147 day wait for me, although, I still dont have it in my hands yet.
I ended up having to contact Senator Dan Patrick's office to get the ball rolling, within 3 business days they solved the problem. So if you are in Harris county send an email over to Dan Patrick and a member of his staff should call you.

Re: August Applications
I received a call today, that is right on a Saturday, from my DPS customer service person, Dedra, that my Harris County BG was complete and she was processing it as we spoke. We have talked several times as it has been 158 days and she has always been pleasant and helpful. She told me they worked on Saturdays trying to knock down the backlog. I will receive my plastic in the mail on Tuesday. Been a long time coming but well worth it. I really hope the folks waiting will be surprised soon and get that elusive plastic. Good Luck
