Well finally after 192 days I checked the DPS website expecting to be disappointed once again and low and behold

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

I can't believe the approval process took so long but I am glad it is finally over now just have to wait on the mailman.

Now how long does it take to get mail from Austin to Magnolia?

Anyway today is a great day!!!

I thought I was the last, it should be comming soon. As other on here have suggested, you may want contact your reps to see if they can put some pressure in the right area to get you processed.

Good luck!

Congrats roff, I thought I was the last. I know you have the Utah CFP but I know it feels good even though the long wait that you have the Texas CHL.

I wonder if there are any other June applicants out there?

Yes, there are. I know of at least two people, and I've seen posts of several others here and elsewhere that are still waiting.

I'm still waiting.

Send packet in 6/16/2008
Had to resend information and DPS received it on 8/19/2008
Got snail mail from DPS telling me they are running behind due to Ike in late September.
I've been calling DPS once a week, every week, since late November and their excuse is that they are still waiting on my background check.

Still waiting since June 18 of 2008. I finally called in and talked to Judy Dunnam at DPS in Austin. She found my application and told me that she was waiting for some additional information. She claims she left a phone message in August of 2008. I told her I never received it and asked why I wasn't notified in writing like I'm supposed to be. Her response: "I have too many applications. I don't have time to mail out letters." Unfathomable! If you sent out a few letters people could resolve the issues and you wouldn't have so many applications lying around in limbo! I have two friends who applied in January of this year and who both received LETTERS indicating that there was a problem with their application, so I know for a fact that at least SOME letters are being sent. I found out what information she needed, scanned and emailed it immediately to her DPS email address. I even called and she confirmed that she received the information. She told me that I was email #30 in her inbox. That was two weeks ago. I called yesterday (I have her direct number) and asked about my application status. It was like we'd never talked. She started going through the whole thing again about leaving a message, blah, blah. I reminded her that I had sent the information two weeks ago. She finally seemed to recall this but said the she just hadn't gotten to it yet. Sheesh, no wonder there's delays at DPS if they can't open 30 emails in two weeks. I asked her how long I could expect it to take for her to "get to it" and she estimated it would be done by the end of the week. I told her I'd be calling back again in a week. The problem now is that I have no idea who to go to next if she doesn't get it done. I'm appalled that I've been waiting 9 months and have still never received a letter explaining why my application has not been processed.
