I disagree with this. EVERYBODY in my CHL class submitted ink prints, and to my knowledge not a single person has been rejected. Out of 22 persons in the class,I know of 4 that already have their license in hand.

JL, it could also be an issue with the way the prints were taken. In my particular class, the CHL instructor took prinits on his own ink equipment for anyone who didn't already have them while walking us through the paperwork process. I thought they looked fine (no smears, etc.) but then I have no knowledge what constitutes a good set of fingerprints.

That being said, I'm glad you and your classmates didn't have any issues. However, going forward, I would still recommend the electronic prints over ink if you have the choice.

Bump, bump, bump!
Spoke to MaryAnne again this afternoon because I havent received my license! She told me that she personally put into the outgoing mail pile and I should be seeing it next week. I hope she is really telling the truth. She told me I would be seeing it in a few days last week! Any other updates for people waiting this month?

Same bull from them as I've been hearing this entire time..."Waiting on the background checks"...
At this rate-I'll be surprised to see it before Christmas.

Don't give up hope. Just do other things with your time like carry indoors for practice, go to the range, practice concealing with different clothes. Before you know it you will have it!

Working 70+ hrs a week right now is helping, and I'm not gonna bother my Rep about it since there's such a disaster around here right now. He's busier than a one legged man in....well,you know ;-) .

If you live in Harris County that is the reason it's taking so long as I'm in the same boat.

Denton County.

I'm calling again on Monday.

I can't see any reason why it would have been held up. Clean record, clean sheet through and through on all history.....

I honestly believe that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. As soon as I hit my 60 day mark I was contacting them. Any time before that is pointless.

state rep called me yesterday

ok sent my application off 108 days ago. Mailed it June 16. A little while ago I emailed my state rep. I got a call from their office yesterday and the lady told me that they would look into the mater. Today I got a call from a D.P.S. supervisor. The supervisor told me that the state rep. had contacted them and he was getting with me to let me know that everything looked good. They are just waiting for the field investigation from Harris county to get back to them. He stated that the hurricane was the reason they have slowed down again. We'll the wait will continue! Will keep you folks posted when I get the good work.

Bump

I was on vacation when Ike came through, luckily after getting back home the damage was confined to only trees being down. Hope everyone and their families in the path of Ike are doing well. I've been super busy with work and heven't been able to get on much to see what has been going on here on the board. I did get my mail upon returning, there was an envelope from you know who, it was my PIN. I only let myself check once a day.

Has anyone from the June group received their plastic yet? Seems from what I read, the wait times have not changed.
