How long does it take for the mailman to bring the plastic?

#1

Post by kidder014 »

So my status went to App Complete last Friday, and obviously this Moday was a holiday, but it's had 4 days to travel the mail now, and I still didn't get it today. I would think 4 days would be long enough to get mail to me from Austin. How long have others seen this part take???

I think waiting for the plastic in the mail is worse than waiting for the application to be processed. :waiting:

It probably takes the mail boy, or girl 4 days to get it where it needs to go to be mailed. I think mine took about 7 days.

must be nice.

I would be less likely to complain, you are likely to get your license about a month or more quicker than most of us who applied in the past six months.

I've read the horror stories from numerous users that applied back in March and April and are still having issues getting their licenses. I understand the frustrations among everyone. I consider myself to be very likely to get through the process as quickly as I did. I hope DPS can work to improve the process for everyone in the future, but, working for government on the local level, I know what the "speed of government" is all too well. With all of the political games played in the government sector, and employees doing jobs they are not qualified for, I honestly don't have a lot of hope for improvements. I hope they can prove me wrong...

With that said, I had a small package delivered to me today via USPS first class that was sent from out of state and was mailed out last Friday, the same day I received the "App complete" message. Seems to me that if the plastic was mailed from Austin on Friday, I should've received it today. BUT, I suppose it might have sat until Tuesday before it was mailed.

I do hope the process improves and I do hope that in the future all applicants from one month will receive their licenses before the applicants of the next month. We will have to see what changes at DPS.

More truth to this than one would want :cheers2:

Took 4 days for mine.... But I don’t trust the USPS at all. I have had mail in my box that belonged over a mile away on another street... I took it to the postmaster at my local Post office and he ask if it all was in my box when I told him yes and laughed a bit then ask him if my mail was a mile away from my box? He just shook his head and said he did not know and told me thank you for bringing it to his attention and he would look into the situation..

Informed this AM that my license was approved and active. Not bad...only took 49 days following receipt at DPS. How long before I can expect to see it in the mail? USPS I assume. Thanks.

It has been nearly a week since DPS told me my CHL was issued and the website began to reflect said status. Any idea as to why it takes more than 3-4 mailing days for it to get delivered in Texas? I receive mail from both coasts in 2-3 days. Just frustrated I guess now that the goal is so close.
