Obviously they are not going in order received, even for foreign-born citizens. I submitted all of my stuff 18 days before this most recent poster, and I'm still stuck at the "background" stage.

I didn't expect to see the update but sure is glad,
I guess it cud be because I did file online and also send in the paperwork ( paperwork first) secondly since I'm a foreign born and already have had multiple FBI level BG checks and all clear could have helped my case.

It makes no sense. I have two current background checks with federal agencies. And a 100% clean record. I haven't even had a speeding ticket in the past 13 years.

Tomorrow will be 44 days since mine made it to background pending, I too have a 100% clean record. It simply makes no sense that so many others are getting in 12-20 days while I am given no reason why mine won't go through. To say the least I feel your pain.

I walked in the gun store bought 4 ar 15 lowers and a handgun background check took me 3 minutes for 5 guns in and out under 10 minutes

^^ Well, yeah, there's that, too. I bought a new S&W a few weeks ago, and the background check took about 45 seconds.

2/5/18 - took class & submitted ltc-100

don't know why I waited so long to take the class, but it's done and now the waiting period begins!

2/6/18 - documents received email
2/10/18 - showing green, background check under review
2/13/18 - background check complete, print pending
2/15/18 - mailed

surprised it only took 10 days from submission of my ltc100 to mailed, thanks texas DPS!!!

My wife and her mom both took the course and submitted their LTC-100 on 1/13 (after completing fingerprints on a prior date). My mother in law received her LTC in the mail at the end of January. She has never been arrested.

My wife is still pending Background/Fingerprints. She had a felony which was later set aside by the judge which makes her eligible to own/purchase a firearm.

I have a feeling that there is a 'quick lane' for those that have a squeaky clean record which goes through an automated process never being put into human hands until completed speeding up the process and those who have interactions with police get the delayed treatment and get to wait a little longer.

Maybe they're doing them in batches since troy and u2f's prints and background were completed then print pending and mailed the same day..??

Got my plastic today, did my Wally walk twice and used my LTC to get a shotgun with no delay (my dad who’s in prison for life shares my name so I get delayed EVERY TIME, until now)

1/6/18 all documents submitted
2/13/18 background and fingerprints turned green (completed)
2/13/18 print pending
2/15/18 mailed
2/17/18 LTC received

45 days total including the fact that my LTC-100 was submitted on a Saturday.

Has anyone had issues with the status check feature? When I input my information it shows:

"LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required. Once the application and documents have been received by Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.

Please Note: Once a license has been issued, this service will no longer be available."

I completed the application on 2/6/18 fingerprints on 2/7/18 and turned in LTC-100 on 2/12/18 and it has not updated.

Concerned I messaged the DPS and got a response that everything was submitted and in processing, I just would be more comfortable if i was seeing something different on that status screen.
