Background check is still "under review"
Frustrating seeing people waiting less than 2 weeks for their plastic. What could possibly be taking so long?
Any arrests on your record? Behind on taxes? Child Support? Military convictions? Expired CHL-100? Unknown warrant like for unpaid tolls? Lots of things can delay that.
I got a ticket 10 years ago for fireworks in Iowa. Pled guilty and payed the fine. As far as taxes go, we're current but are still paying from 2015. Surely that would be the only road block?
Were you arrested as part of the ticket?
Also, pretty sure they have to gather info from your previous addresses so if you've moved a lot out of state in the past 5 years that could be part of the delay.
Either way, give them a call and see what's up once they pass the 60 day mark.

Your fireworks ticket couldn't have been a felony, so that won't matter. The only taxes Texas cares about are those collected by a Texas taxing authority. If you have a repayment agreement, then even Texas taxes won't be a problem.

Yes, I've moved 3 times in the last 5 years so that's probably it. Thanks for your help!

So let's just say for hypothetical reasons, they decide to extend my review...am I really going to have to wait another 180 days for an answer??
Online application and fee paid 6/4
E-prints 6/5
LTC class 6/7
Certificate uploaded 6/8
All documents complete and received as of phone contact 6/12
I haven't been able to see anything regarding my application status yet on the RSD/DPS site, so I called this morning to check and make sure everything is showing up there. I was told that they have received everything and that my status should become visible soon. Right after I hung up I got two emails from RSD that they had received my materials, 60 days to review, etc. However,I still have no status showing on the RSD/DPS site.
As of 6/12/17 all paperwork and fingerprints submitted.
Of course, I had a bit of a checkered past in both California and Florida, so we'll how long this takes to get through the background check. Not expecting it to be quick...mainly since I had a juvenile record, but all records have since been destroyed.
