There is obviously something not right. You need to be phone the phone with them finding out what is going on behind the scenes with your application cause that's far far outside the norm.
Wow yeah I second that. I'd be on the phone for sure, state rep or someone on up there
I had not heard about calling the state rep before, I will try that on monday. I have never been able to get anywhere calling them directly. Every time i called, it would hang up on me after an automated response. I had to go in person and talk to the security guard, who called upstairs to get me the name of someone to find out what more they needed in may.

Needless to say i was surprised to see people getting theirs within a couple weeks, month, and months...

i did call my state rep and they were very helpful. i found out there was some error in them getting back to me, but my application was denied due to a ticket i got in 2012. so, thats that apparently.

What kind of "ticket" is a disqualifyer? Tickets are usually Class C Misdemeanors. Not trying to get into your personal business, but It sounds strange to me.
Take away the Second first, and the First is gone in a second :rules: :patriot:

it was a DWLI ticket. thats why i forgot about it, because it was a ticket, i didnt think of it as a "class B misdemeanor arrest"

CC_OhSure wrote:Hey guys. First post here and I think it's cool theres a site to keep everyone informed of their timelines. Here's mine:

7/24/2016 - Class
7/25/2016 - Application submitted
7/25/2016 - Fingerprints submitted
7/25/2016 - **Never received any confirmation email but saw some other folks here hadn't either so decided to be patient and not call.
8/3/2016 - All documents received and finally got the "green box" with everything checked minus background and LTC print pending
8/3/2016 - Background Check Under Review

To be continued.....
Hey Guys quick update to the above post:

9/9/2016 - Background check complete
9/13/2016 - Plastic Mailed!

All in all, not bad at all compared to what i've seen on these boards. I do think mine took a little longer as I've held several addressed in the past 10 years, which I've heard can slow things down a bit.

Good luck to all and be sure to donate to the NRA-ILA before the election if you haven't already!

All in on 4/25
Confirmation received 4/27
BG Check and fingerprinting still pending since 4/29

Sitting on day 140 something..

I've contacted DPS many times. However, The nice lady on the phone was just as helpful as speaking to a wall =)

Anyone else with a clean record in the same boat?

Believe me I am patient. I have had so much time to find the holster I like.

Just wanted to see how many people share a similar timeline

It's great to see others getting theirs so fast and exercising their 2A :patriot: :cheers2:

Paperwork done 01/10/16
Fingerprints done 01/16/16
Then I waited on taking the class with a group from my church on 07/16/16 (should have just gone in January)
My wife does everything the week of the class on 7/16 and got her license 2 weeks later, so I'll just have to hide behind her in the mean time.
I finally called today and they said, "everything is received and processing."
There really is no rhyme or reason to the waiting game. We both sent our class completion in the same time, and my wife gets hers in 10 days and I'm still waiting at almost 60 days. :waiting:

I didn't keep track of all the time frames but my wife and I submitted our application in full on 7/17/16, she had plastic in hand within 2 weeks, as of today , roughly 60 days, mine is still showing background check under review. I requested via email an update on 9/6/16 and received a generic email stating its in process with a generic summary of the time frame. Guess that 60 day statute for a new LTC is just more of a guideline Aaaarrrrr like the pirate code. Good thing my wife can shoot good.
I will admit it's frustrating seeing others who have applied at a later date already receiving theirs. Seems like no method to the madness, I'll just be patient and continue to wait.

Yes infoman, she has a spotless record and I was arrested sometime in the mid 90's for trespassing. Since than I have served in a petit jury and a Grand Jury in which it didn't disqualify me for either. Hopefully it will not disqualify for a LTC. Serving in a Grand Jury opened my eyes to how much crime goes on around me on a day to day basis and was a contributor to my decision to apply for a LTC. I will patiently wait for their decision. Just hope that guy convicted in the petite jury case dosen't get out of prison anytime soon..lol

And on the 50th day!

I had everything confirmed on 7/28 and was getting really frustrated that a lot of other applicants were receiving their licenses way faster than me. I got upset and emailed them that the 60 days were approaching and that it was a state mandate to have it out. 3 days later on day 50 I finally got all green!!!!! Stalking the mailman now!! That Ish took forever

Class on 9/3
application completed 9/7
fingerprints and paperwork turned into RSD office 9/12.
Not showing any update that it was received or in process as of now.
Now looking at holsters and a different carry weapon. I qualified with a heavy Tanfoglio witness.
