All in date 3/22/16
Confirmation email from RSD 3/22/12
No correspondence has been sent to me as of 5/13/16

I called RSD today and I was told that my application was in progress as of 5/7/16. I was told that it usually takes 30 days after it gets moved to "in progress" status.

No change on the Website status. I still get the same old status.

"LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required."

Is this what everyone else is getting? :banghead:
I am all in 2/23/2016 and still no changes. I called last month and they told me that the background check started on on 4/12 and it could take up to 60 days. Hopefully by June 12th I should have my license. I saw another post and this person had to wait 149 days.

Just hang in there!

Application - 1/11/16
Fingerprints - 1/13/16
CHL-100 - 4/2/16
Confirmation - 4/4/16
Status Change - 5/14/16
Plastic - TBD

40 days all in, looks like RSD is picking up the pace. I was shocked to see the status change when I just checked. Hopefully the mailman will be my friend come Monday/Tuesday.

Completed Class Mar 19th
Submitted paperwork online Mar 20th
Fingerprinted Mar 21st
Confirmation email Mar 28th
as of May 15th, same message on website: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required.

7 weeks seems like suffiecient time. What exactly is their process? Are they going around interviewing my preschool teachers?? Why in the world does it take SOOOOO long to process? Seeing as each person pays $140 you would think that would justify hiring enough people to complete the job in a timely matter. I guess the answer is they really don't want to give out licenses so, they take their sweet time and spend the money we sent in on some other government program.

Congratulations! Actually that's not bad considering you had some extra requirements.

Well it varies from person to person. I got all my paperwork in on 02/24 and I am still waiting.

Ya know, after forgetting about it & not checking the site every day, 4X/day for the past week, it was a wonderful surprise. I spoke to a RSD rep last week so I wasn't expecting anything till at least the end of the month.

Well today is a big day for me! Status change this morning. Here is my timeline and I am sure some folks will be pretty annoyed.

CHL-100, application and supporting docs: 4/2

Fingerprints: 4/4

Confirmation email: 4/4

Website Change: 5/18

Plastic should be here in short order.

I am not sure how I was done so quickly, but I am not upset. I do wish the timelines were more uniform than they currently are though.
