My all in date was 2/16/16 and according to the phone call I am at 47 days (business day :skep:) and 60 days will be May 10th, 2016. This basically boils down to 12 weeks not 6 weeks :nono:. I know there will be a lot of you that don't agree with their statement on business days (please don't :fire the messenger). I am just happy to have an answer and have a better idea of when to expect approval.

So I am just going to sit back and wait at least 2 1/2 more weeks :waiting:.

Hopefully this information helps some of you waiting and wondering.

Just to get ahead of the onslaught:

GC §411.177. ISSUANCE OR DENIAL OF LICENSE. (b) The department shall, not later than the 60th day after the date of the receipt by the director’s designee of the completed application materials:
(1) issue the license;
(2) notify the applicant in writing that the application was denied: :rules: :rules: :rules: :rules: :rules: :rules:

Being that a day is not defined as a business day or calendar day. It seems to leave the RSD the option to interpret the law the way they want to.
I contacted the RSD yesterday evening. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely nice as well. He indicated that they were still 3 days inside of their "60 day requirement" on my application. Based on what he said - it will be 60 calendar days for me on Friday since I received my confirmation email. I think people would be a lot more understanding and patient if there was some sort of method to the madness and a more informative "status update" on the website. It seems as though there are folks that submitted applications back in January and February still waiting on something while there are a few that submitted in March already getting their confirmation and license in the mail. Just my two cents. :grumble

Application online - 12/28/2015
Fingerprints submitted - 1/15/2016
CHL-100 sent in 2/1/16

As of 4/19/16, NOTHING....I FINALLY got ahold of someone at RSD yesterday who told me that it was 'In Process' as of 3/31/16, which, she said, means that it's actually been in someone's hands.

I emailed my State Representative last week....no response. I emailed my Senator today. We'll see.

#ifI'mwaitingonyouI'mbackingup

P.S. Heard back from the Senator's office almost immediately. Was told they would look into the situation and get back with me when they hear.

Update #2 - Hadn't heard anything as of today. Still no website change. I sent another email to the Senator's office. About an hour later, I received a call from DPS. He said my license should be printed within 24 hours and I should receive it within 7-10 days. Let's see..... :anamatedbanana

Update #3 - HA! I received TWO calls from DPS today. Both stating my license will be printed tomorrow and I should receive in a week. I asked about the website, and the DPS guy said, "Don't pay attention to that. It's a joke! I don't even know how often that thing is updated." Uhm....ok.

Update #4 - Received plastic in the mail today. (My birthday, mind you :hurry: ) Funny how I receive it approximately 1 week after I contact my Senator's office. Shouldn't have to do that. I guarantee if we were late on something we owed them, they wouldn't be patient. At all! On the plus side, I get to leave the waiting room now!!!

But...

Today is 87 calendar days and 60 business days for me, and no dice. Mail has already come this morning, and I got nothing but junk mail. Any time window for approval/disapproval is a moot point for RSD. I get that they're busy, it's crossed over the border to ridiculous at this point with February and March applicants already receiving their LTC.

on my 12th all in week and FINALLY got thru on the phone. Reminded me of many years ago when you'd call a radio station contest and all you got was a busy signal on every attempt but then one magic moment you heard a ringing and you sat up in anticipation you had won the contest...then only to have them tell you they already had a winner and thanks for calling.

That's what happened when I finally got thru to DPS this morning. I just knew they'd tell me my plastic was on its way but instead was told they have all they need and I'll just have to wait longer :mad5 . Kind of takes the thrill out of my daily trip to the mail box thinking today might be the day. Now I know it probably won't happen for another couple of weeks at minimum.

I have heard some peoples status change the day they receive their license, some a few days before, and some receive it and the status changes a few days latter.

I am sure that they are playing catch up and just have not got to it yet. It will happen.

I've been waiting 6 months for my chl. I've checked the status checker, it's always the same,,,please allow sufficient time....I've called to get the same recording....leading me to a bogus email....what else can I do? Why is it impossible to Co tact someone to find out what's going on? I've not heard a peep from dps since October 2015. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

Try calling around 6:45pm. Your wait will run until after 7pm but they will still pick up the phone and you can ask all the questions then. I usually get someone who is really rude and short with me, but they will still answer questions. At least you can get info. if they even received your documents.
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if this is new but I had the option of getting a call back recently. Never heard that before. They were more than helpful and gave me a quick update on what was going on.
