Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
So here is my time line for the process I've gone through up to this point.
Feb 27,2016: took my class
March 4,2016: fingerprints and uploaded all documents online.
March 7, 2016: confirmation of receiving my documents from the regulatory services.
April 18,2016: status changed
April 20,2016: just waiting for my plastic to come through these flooded streets of cypress tx.
April 20,2016: plastic received in the mail!
I should add, I'm not good at waiting, so i emailed my state rep just to get a status update since it seems as of they never update online. The state rep had their chief of staff respond. He said he would gladly check mine and my wife's status for us. 2 days later he responded again saying our plastic is in the mail. I looked online and sure enough.... status changed
The short time I've been here, it's been fun. Good luck to everyone on receiving their plastic.... see ya on the flip side

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
Broke down and called RSD this morning and spoke with a lady named Sherry. She confirmed all my docs were received when I sent them. Sherry told me they hadn't even received my background check yet (seems like that is the standard thing they are saying now). She told me it could take up to 60 days to receive the background check back.
I was going to post a long rant on how unhappy I was about this entire process being what it is, especially for people who have waited a lot longer than me. Instead I decided not to. In 2017 we need to fight for DPS and their RSD to have a bigger budget. This is ridiculous.

Day 87. No status update. Beginning to question my own existence. Perhaps this is all a dream.
I've now resorted to emailing RSD daily, not that I'm expecting an answer from them, or that they're even reading the emails. Received responses from the Governors office, my state representative (both of which have promised to at least get me a clear status) and my state senator (who basically told me to go pound sand).

What makes it worse is there is no clear status. I feel like the entire thing is random, nobody is on the same page there. They clearly need more funding and a better process.mkruck wrote:Day 87. No status update. Beginning to question my own existence. Perhaps this is all a dream.

UPDATE: The Governor's office isn't playing around. A lieutenant from DPS just called and told me that "You been selected to issue, your LTC is currently in San Antonio". I got the response from the Governor's office late yesterday via email, stating that they were going to contact the Director of DPS to get a status update and rectify my situation.mkruck wrote:Day 87. Anyone reading this that submitted in January and is still waiting - fire off a polite request for help to the Governors office. Only takes a few minutes to, and it may help. I'm still skeptical, but we'll see over the next few days.

Every time I call the number on the website I get "due to the call volume our representatives cannot assist you" then the call drops. I filled out the e-mail form asking about an update 2 weeks ago and nothing. Any advice as to how I might get an update or speak to a real person?
I have the same "All In" date as you. I called RSD (512) 424-7293 yesterday @ 07:15 I was on hold for approx 20 min and surprisingly someone picked up and said hello. She said my app was being worked on and is currently in the background check process (Bull S*!T detector was in the other room so who knows). No ETA on how long it can take. There is no rhyme or reason as to the dates that are being processed but there have been quite a few 1/21 approvals.SO one can only hope that within the next week or so I should have confirmation of approval.
We're are close so hang in there and good luck!
Same all in date as both of you. Called TX Public Safety Commission today and got a nice, apologetic lady. Can't get anything but a "we are too busy message" at RSD. Mine is with investigators in eligibility, the final step - should be a "matter of days".
Two friends and I all have the same all in date. One of them got their status change yesterday. Now my obsession of checking the RSD web site is 10 fold...

I did the same as you this morning. I've been waiting since the 27th of January.
I got a reply back from the state office, and they said they will update soon as they check on my status. I will give an update soon as I get a response.

THE GOVERNORS EMAIL IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!
I am currently 86+ days out from my "all in" date. (At least from the date of the confirmation of DPS receiving my Documents) The Governors Office is the way to go to get results. I sent an email yesterday and got a return email a few hours later saying they had sent it over to DPS to get an answer from them. I got another email from the Gov's office about an hour ago asking for me to provide my DL# and phone number so the DPS Chief could find the hold-up...... Hey don't be scared to make these people do their jobs, It's what they get paid to do!!!

I honestly don't know why i got mine so fast. I know quite a few people who have gone through the same process as i did. Some had the same result and some did not. I think it's all in who u talk to. I will say this though, i would contact your state rep for the county you live in instead of the governors office or even the RSD. RSD gets requests all day long from people waiting on their LTC, the governors office isn't as concerned about your LTC in my opinion. State rep office want to get your vote again and again. They will do what it takes to please the people of their county so they are reelected to office.
Just my 2 cents....

1/31/2016 - all paperwork in to DPS
Never got confirmation email
4/11/2016 - emailed Governor's office
4/13/2016 - got email from DPS saying license was mailed 4/13/2016
4/16/2016 - Status change online
4/20/2016 - PLASTIC IN HAND!
Finally. Don't know if the email to the Governor made a difference. Wish everyone the best of luck in their wait!
