Re: "Waiting Room"
Day 59, via business days. Confirmation received: 1/21.
I should've waited until March to send my stuff in apparently.

Plastic received Thursday, April 7th in Houston.patricjft wrote:First post, but thought I would at least share my timeline.
All in on February 1st. Did not receive any confirmation email, but called RSD on February 8th to confirm, and after several sequential attempts, talked to a very nice lady who confirmed that all items were received on February 1st.
Website status change: Yesterday, April 5th.
So, now I just wait on snail mail.

Every time I see someone put their days or anytime I count my own, I always feel like its the days survival.

Never question the RSD, they have no rhyme or reason for what they due. Applications submitted in December nothing happens; applications submitted in late March, people already receiving license and doing wally walks. The DPS:RSD is like Agent Smith on the Matrix.JoCannonIV wrote:What precipitated them to call you?houstonag wrote:Received a phone call this morning saying I was approved and my license is off to printing. FINAL TIMELINE:
Application (online): 12/27/15
Fingerprints: 12/30/15
Class: 1/9/16
Documents submitted: 1/9/16
Confirmation email ('START' date): 1/11/16
Status change: 4/2/16
Plastic in hand: 4/11/16
66 work days elapsed total.
I also had to submit a change of address once that option became available on 4/2/16, so that may have contributed to the delay between the status change and plastic in hand. However, I'm glad it does not appear to bump you to the back of the line.
For those keeping score at home, I sent DPS an email mid-February about the address change and another early March asking for a general update. Neither was responded too, and my address was unchanged when my application became accessible on 4/2 (they also managed to enter my phone number in incorrectly, FWIW).
Regardless, I'm glad not to be the only one at work without a LTC anymore, and my PF-9 can finally join me in my boot at the office.

Did the address change on your license once you received it? I'm probably going to have to do what you did since I am moving the first week in May and wont have the same address.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Okay…. just got off the phone with RSD's investigator that was working on my file. She submitted for my Class C issues and they both came back good like I told her they would. So I am good to go and she said that she cleared it and sent it to printing and that last she heard it was 2 days to print and mail so she said that it would probably go out in the mail Friday.1badazzman35 wrote:Finally found a number that I could get back in touch with this guy... On the phone with him now... ON HOLD while he went to check... Crossing my fingers!! LOL1badazzman35 wrote:So I am guessing I made another MISTAKE... I forgot to get this supervisor's DIRECT PHONE NUMBER... Haven't heard anything back yet. So much for a "few minutes!" I hate when someone "gives me their word" on something and then doesn't FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT!!! Irritating... VERY IRRITATING!!!1badazzman35 wrote:So I just got off the phone with RSD. I spoke to a supervisor in the Data Entry section who stated to me that my application was in Background Check Verification. I asked him "Why is that taking so long?" I sent yall ALL OF MY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS which included ALL of my previous criminal charges (which didn't go anywhere once it made it to the courts), and I went to ALL of the COUNTIES where there were hiccups at and sent you the CERTIFIED DISPOSITIONS to these cases. He called the supervisor of Background Check (Eligibility) who actually says "Yes or No" and he called me back promptly (within 5 minutes). He stated to me that they sent me a letter on the 7th which I probably just haven't received yet. I asked him, "What did that letter say?" He replied, " That they needed more documents in regards to my criminal cases." I told him that "They already HAD ALL OF THESE, that I had submitted ALL OF THEM WITH MY APPLICATION." He started looking through the system and replied, "I apologize sir, you are absolutely correct, you did submit everything we were going to need to get you approved if it all looks good." He said he had my stuff and he was going to go find an available investigator right then that was free and get them to go over my stuff, and that it shouldn't take that person very long for them to make a determination (within a matter of 15 mins) and that he personally would call me back as soon as they made that determination and let me know something. So lets see... hopefully he will call me back and give me the okay that everything was good and that I will be sent for printing! We will see... I will update when I find out. My all in was Jan. 28th.
This OBVIOUSLY goes to show that they DO NOT HAVE IT TOGETHER THERE!!!
My patience is OBVIOUSLY wearing PRETTY THIN at this point!! LOL
And so I was put on hold, was waiting, came back on and he stated, "Let me clear this other thing off my screen, and it looks like.....
I WAS DISCONNECTED... DID THIS GUY JUST HANG UP ON ME??? What the H*LL??? MY BLOOD IS STARTING TO BOIL!!! WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS?? THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SUPERVISOR!!!
No phone call back and he had my number, I called back in and got his voicemail... His voicemail had another number to contact if he didn't answer. Called it and spoke to a woman. She said she would try to track down the supervisor and get him to call me back or she would before she left. She took my name and number.... So the WAIT CONTINUES..... I think I have gotten better "customer service" than this from McDonalds!!!
Okay... an investigator called me back and they are having an issue with a couple CLASS C "Simple Assaults" I had from when I was a youngster just getting into a fight. They said that they just needed to verify that it wasn't against a "family member." Im like, "Wow!" "Really???" I assured the woman that it wasn't any form of "Family Violence" type thing and that it was all good. They have to still try to verify through the Municipality and the JP courts that this is "accurate" though but it's like I told the woman, "Good Luck with that!" " That when I tried to call them on these, they couldn't even FIND THE RECORDS on these 2 incidents at first and I had to EXPLAIN to the court clerk who was helping me that THEY DID EXIST and after waiting a while, they were finally able to find it. I called them before I submitted my application so I had ACCURATE DATES for DPS so that they didn't say I was "trying to hide anything," but I can't believe this is hanging this crap up!! Guess I'm glad I didn't have a "brother" who liked to fight or anything and we got caught... That is kinda ridiculous though if you ask me... think that is getting a little too picky!!! *smh*
After reading CHL-16 (which was just updated in March this year), I could NOT find ANYTHING on Class C Misdemeanors being an exclusion to eligibility. Can someone in here perhaps who might now this better chime in on this? When I asked her, SHE HERSELF COULDN'T EVEN TELL ME WHERE IT SAID THIS AT…. When I asked to speak to her SUPERVISOR again, of course HE WASN'T AVAILABLE at the moment. I even asked to speak with his supervisor, and he was in a meeting as well. Seriously??? LOL Well I'm pretty proficient with the LAWS and the PENAL CODE and I asked her SEVERAL TIMES very politely to find it in writing for me. She never could, so this MIGHT be the reason for some DELAYS, it's almost as if they are SCRUTINIZING AND MAKING UP THEIR OWN RULES AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AS THEY GO ALONG… because this is RIDICULOUS in my opinion that I was being held up on 2 CLASS C "Simple Assaults" which she tried to tell me that if they were "against a family member or domestic violence," they would DISQUALIFY me permanently, which they of course were NOT. She even told me that an offense of CLASS C "Disorderly Conduct" in 42.01 could disqualify you for 5 years, which that is in CHL-16, but that is OBSURD and RIDICULOUS also!! The reason this is ridiculous is because police like that "law" because that is the simple "POP" or "irritating the Police" UNIVERSAL CHARGE….. I believe this disqualifying offense should be REASSESSED as causing a "LOUD NOISE" except for at a shooting range over 85dB can constitute a Disorderly Conduct charge against you… REALLY??? Am I NOT CORRECT IN THINKING THIS???
You know, some of us want to write or call our state representatives and the governor to whine and cry about our impatience with RSD (which I did NOT do at all), but I think we should write to them about these OBSURD stipulations which they wrote into law and get them to CHANGE THESE AND CORRECT THIS! Then maybe if there wasn't so much stupid crap that RSD had to follow what is already in BLACK & WHITE and the things like the CLASS C "Assaults" which ARE NOT in the GUIDELINES in BLACK & WHITE, it might make for things to GO A LITTLE SMOOTHER AND EASIER. Because right now, with the 42.01 crap, 5 years ineligibility, there are WAY TO MANY INSIGNIFICANT LAWS which could disqualify someone just because they "irritated the POLICE."
This is just my $.02…..
So my times as of today are 75 calendar days, and 53 business days.
I'm estimating if my license does go out Friday and I get it on Tuesday next week, that I will be at 81 calendar days and 57 business days upon receiving my plastic.
"I'm beginning to wonder about people........" *smh*
Re: "Waiting Room"
I for one wasn't emailing to wine but rather call attention to what wasnt being done and to get someone that could give me an anwser as to what was going on with it other than the dang people at the DPS saying we got your stuff have a good day .

Re: "Waiting Room"
There has been a question regarding whether calling a State Representative does any good. I called mine to receive status report regarding my application. I found out that my application needed to be sent for further investigation and just so happens to have been sent to that area TODAY. Coincidence??? It probably would have been sitting in someone's computer for who knows how long before it was acted upon. If you have any question, call your State Representative, just don't tell that I told you to.
