Two weeks? That's amazing! Did you file on the website or did you send it in by snail mail? Be nice to you husband because he may be in for a wait like the rest of us. ;-)

Were there any other differences between the two of you? Veteran, police officer, or anything?

So status update......... I was all in 2/16 and this was the first time I was able to actually get through on the phone. I spoke with a gentleman and don't remember his name. I asked if all my paperwork had been received and if so if there was an ETA on everything. He said they had not even touched my application but he did confirm that he had received all of my fingerprints, document, etc. He then let me know that "It could take 2-3 more months just to get my paperwork pushed through the system, and that once it had, they would need to complete a background check. The background check could possible take 60-90 days to complete." I've waited a month and a half ( which I am fine with) and am being told that it could take another 6 months? That would be a 7 1/2 month wait time for my ltc in total. I really hope that he is mistaken. I know a lot of you guys had to wait quite a while but they were getting them through in the 60-80 day range. I hope that this is not what is to come for us post 2015 applicants.

Everything was online same day for both of us. Oddly enough I did get a letter saying they needed my fingerprints. However they had them by the time I got that letter. I had thought it odd he didn't get the same letter. Now I guess they just got to mine really quick. We were wondering if they were just pushing through females quickly.

Unfortunately not. I got off of the phone with them 10 minutes before I posted. 2-3 months for paperwork to be put in the the system and same for background check is what I was told. I have a squeeky clean background and I didn't stagger my paperwork. Everything was sent to them in a 3 day window. I really hope that guy was just full of crap.

I just got off the phone with RSD. Spoke to a woman who actually works on the applications. As per our conversation, she stated to me that they are currently working on the timeframe around Jan. 11th applications as of right now. She stated that they are processing out approximately 1400 applications a day at this moment but each day they are receiving in approx 2000 more. She also stated to me that they have pulled people from "other divisions" of DPS to help process these applications and that they have hired some temp workers as well. They are also working 7 day weeks now until they are caught up and they are offering other dept. personnel overtime hours if they want to stay an additional 4 hours a day to assist with them. I think they are doing their best and it is very frustrating that some people are getting their stuff processed faster than others. When I asked her about this… as I was ALL IN on the 28th of January, she didn't have an explanation for this but stated that they are trying to be fair and keep things in order and are trying their best to get these things processed. She gave me her direct # and told me to give them a week and to call her back for another update if I would like. She also confirmed that my background check had already been complete but until my application was actually input into the computer system, (which it has not been yet), that nothing else could be done with it at this point. So I will try to get another update from her this time next week.

Hope this helps some.

we were worried the hubs had been lost in mail but I guess it's just not ready. He has yet to be able to get anyone on the phone.

I think you just got lucky girl! One of the FEW!! But yeah… she seemed very sincere and if you look at the people getting their plastic "in hand" in this room and in other rooms…. it seems like she was right on point.

Just gotta wait… but congrats to being one of the "lucky ones"

I called today and got through after the 10th time and waited 40 minutes, a fella answered, I stated that I was in my 12th week and was wondering where I was at in the process, I heard him chuckle :mad5 when I stated the 12 weeks, but anyway he ask for my license number and stated that I was one of the lucky ones "rlol": that my LTC had been approved and I would get it in the mail in the next 7 to 10 days.

I am reluctant to get excited but hey we will see. There has been no status change on the website, so the pessimist in me says if it doesn't get here in that time frame I won't be disappointed.

I have noticed on this forum that when they say you should get it in 7 to 10 days it is usually sooner so here's hoping that it true.

PLASTIC IN HAND!!!!!!

Timeline:
1/4 turned all paperwork in
1/5 confirmation email
3/28 status changed on website
3/30 plastic in hand

Dad submitted his stuff the exact same time as me. Actually a half hour or so before me. He hasn't seen the change of status yet. Hopefully he gets his soon too.

Stay patient friends- it's worth it!
