CHL class: 12/20/15
Online App, documents sent, confirmation received: 12/21/15
Fingerprints: 12/23/15
Status Change: 3/22/16
Plastic in hand: 3/23/16

For a grand total of 93 calendar days and 61 business days since my confirmation email. If I hadn't called my state rep and Gov Abbott, who knows how long it would have taken? I think that shaved off 2-3 weeks.

It's been real, folks. Y'all be safe out there! :thumbs2: :txflag:
Congrats brother..... No... go, git out there and get to your (long-overdue) "wally walk".

Stay safe and don't forget about us "little people" still wasting away in the purgatory that is "the Waiting Room". :totap: :totap:

UPDATE:

3/22/16: Emailed my state senator Rep (Charles Perry)

3/24/16: Received an email back from Mr. Perry's Chief of Staff; was told they contacted the DPS and apologized for the long wait. Told me he should have an update for me soon.

3/24/16: actually counted the days that I have been waiting from submission of application until today ( 75 days). Counted Business day, including holidays in-between ( 53 days).

I know they have tons of applications and they want to make sure everything is correct, but truly they must understand that criminals would probably NOT apply to carry since they carry regardless. Also you think they would have an accurate timeline so that us fine citizens could be less frustrated. It would sure be nice if we have a timeline watch thing like Dominoes Pizza...haha :totap:

I was all in 1/13/16.. been trying to wait patiently without a lot of success.

Been watching and reading post on this forum and have done a few things I have read.. Call RSD, emailed RSD emailed my state rep (still haven't heard anything from her!), emailed Abbot (no response there either!) finally talked with a supervisor yesterday to be told they are working on my time frame now just to be patient (LOL).. a buddy of mine sent all his stuff in 2/16/16 and already has his plastic in had (as of yesterday) which is what made me set on hold for an hour to talk with the "supervisor" ...

She said they had hired extra staff and split the work up and that is why some February apps are already getting plastic.. my question to her was simple, if you haven't finished December and January apps why would you start on February apps?? She could not answer that one.

Was told she would personally call me back next week to let me know if there was any updates..

BTW.. I have no history and my finger prints and back ground was complete 2 weeks ago from the first time I called and check on what was going on!!

Time to stalk Mr. Postman...
My wife just called and my LTC came in the mail today... Good luck gentlemen,
It sounds as though the recent rash of people (myself included) calling on their Reps and the Governor has lit a fire under the RSD wing. I can only hope the the recent applications will be more in line with the Statutes.

I am out of here gentlemen and ladies... :thewave

First of all Congratulations to all who have received there LTC lately. Secondly, I really don't believe that our state reps or Senator or Gov have been calling RDS putting on heat. I'm pretty confident that they are just calling asking very nicely if the would look up & get John does & Jane does process updated to them with a little importance, please. No heat, just respectful.
