Welcome! Just a suggestion, set yourself a calendar reminder on December 16th to call DPS for a status update and completely forget about it until then. Not thinking about it will help the time pass.

Welcome. Here's hoping you're one of the lucky ones that receive plastic within 30 days. It was 52 days for me.

The wait begins....
Update: I called on December 18th.
Was told still in background, but should be ready in a couple of weeks.
So hopefully I may have it by year end.
No arrests, but did pay a hefty fine for a hot check back in 1997 when I was 19. It was a class c misdemeanor.
Wanted to share the info in case it might help someone else.

I called after 6pm and did not have to wait at all on the phone.

Curious,, does it really take several weeks in "background mode" or are they just hushing you up for awhile? I would think the latter.. :eek6

I think they may be telling everyone the same thing. I have tried calling a few days now but only get the message about nobody available. Anyway... Website not changed yet and I'm getting close to the 60 day mark. The good news for all those waiting is it does get easier when you give up hope! :evil2:

Update Jan 8th - I called today and was told it was still in background and if they needed anything they would send me a letter. I said I thought after 54 days they would have already sent a letter if they needed something. He couldn't answer that but I got the feeling he was just tired of phone calls. Anyway I'm not going to call again for at least a week...

That's cause you're too early. They're way backed up right now, mostly due to holidays & higher volume.

I'm approaching 60 as also but have decided with the holidays you can basically deduct about 8 days or so off that. So maybe they can get back in the groove now and start getting something done.

As I mentioned in my other post in "The Waiting Room" I called 01-07 & she ( very soft spoken nice lady) said, "we have all your supporting doc's & the reason mine has not processed is because they're still finishing up November app's. So based on that I believe yall will be getting yours pretty soon. Please keep the rest of us informed when you do. I'm already expecting at this point mine sometime in February.
