The wait begins... - Timeline
Online application submitted: 12/8
Class/Proficiency completed: 12/12
Fingerprints: 12/14
CHL-100 submitted: 12/14
Already bought an XDs 9mm, and two holsters are on the way. What to do while i wait... Being the end of the year/open carry coming about, what's a best guess on wait time? It looks to be about 4-5 weeks typically, but will they be flooded with applications right now/longer waiting period? Squeaky clean record, 2 places of employment, 3 residences (5yr span).

Alrighty Texan11,
Looks like our timeline is close,,
Sent app online 12-4,
Sent CHL-100 12-11,
12-14 Received email supporting doc's received
Appt for fingerprinting 12-17.
I'm hopeful that turn around time will be sooner than 60 days. I think it will due to X-Mas (mall buyers) instead of application's being sent.
Keep Shootin

My data date is 11/24. In the interim (during my wait): I have purchased several holsters now, I practice carrying in the house, practice by carrying in vehicle, go to the range and practice. Dry fire practice.

Re: The wait begins... - Timeline
Got a while to go since my fingerprinting isn't scheduled till Thursday 12-17, after that,,, patience, patience, patience. Since I got (G19 gen 4) I'll have plenty time to go the range.

Practice is at the top of the list. Living in the country/having acreage, I have the luxury of shooting & hunting at the house. Although, drawing to fire from any kind of holster is new to me.
This wait may be the death of me though. With my luck, it will take longer than normal!

Update:
I broke down and called RDS. I know better than to think i'm getting close to plastic only being at 30 days, but wanted to make sure they had all required documentation, etc... She said i was in background check, and did not give anything other than the standard "60 day" response in regards to time left.
Just in case someone else is close to my timeline.

Re: The wait begins... - Timeline
hello all. I am at 57 days today. Called last Tuesday and was told something had "popped up" on my BG Chk. I thought for sure it'd be 6 months. Called today and was told all was good and that plastic should ship out late this week, early next week at the latest. Still waiting to see a change in online status. We'll see. Good luck.

Card in hand 2/1. 48 days from confirmation to plastic.
I'm signing off the waiting room, and off to do my Wally walk. Good luck to the rest of you.
