Hmmmm...that seems like a cheap-skate idea I'd like..!!
I have been using a vibratory cleaner for many years, I have been wanting to buy/make a tumbling one for a while now, but didn't want to "Pull the trigger" on the money needed...!!!!!!!
So I like to make and modify stuff, I have some plans I drew up for making me a tumbler thats LARGE enough to suit my needs.
With that in mind, it would not take much to motorize your idea. I would not need/want to make it turn fast, maybe as fast as you would by hand, just with a motor.
A long time ago I use to boil my brass in a large cast iron pot with soap and water and various other ingredients...It worked just fine.
Just depends on how OCD you are as to how clean your brass needs to be...the main idea as you know is to have clean brass going into your clean dies..!!
Other than that....it's all vanity
I use walnut media with Nu-Finish and some mineral spirits in my large vibratory tumbler and they come out like new in about 3+ hours. Some of the primer pockets even get cleaned as an extra bonus, but I usually don't bother on pistol brass.
Thanks for the idea.
