$90/1000?!?

#1

Post by Boxerrider »

FIL called me after attending a gun show in north TX and said the only primers he found were $90/1000.
Are the rest of y'all seeing this too?
I've thought about driving to the next Austin or San Antonio show to see if I could find some but if this has become SOP I think I'll skip it. I have plenty of work to keep me busy in the evenings, but I would rather be filling brass.

Enjoy!

Sounds like price gouging to me. The manufacturers will catch up on the shortages and things will start returning to "normal."

The last gun show I went to in Denton had primers going for $70/1000. I passed.

Midway will only sell 1000 primers per customer when they are in stock, $30.00 plus $20 hazmat plus shipping.

I was looking for small pistol primers at the Reliant Gun Show. I didn't expect to see any since I went on Sunday. Shockingly enough, they had a box of 1000 left. The price was $49 so I just left it there...

I've been buying from http://www.wideners.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When they are in stock, they have been selling Wolf for ~$20.00 a thousand.

They will be selling for 42.00/1000
I think they are all going to be Wolf, but not sure til they get here.

Wideners current pricing has been running 29-34 per thousand, but availability when they have them is usually just a few hours.

This primer shortage is coming to an end. (I hope) I just got some Magtech SP from Cabela's for 30/1000. I bought some powder and my buddy some primers also so the hazmat fee got spread out.

This place has wolf primers in stock as of the time of this post.

I am not recommending wolf, but there they are if you need them.

On gunbroker.com there had been prices as high as $150/1000 but now barely 30-40/1000. plus they are getting sold in 5000-10000 lots instead of 1000 lots. Nice to see PANIC on the selling side for a change!!!!!!! :woohoo

My Son just bought us some for $35.00/100 at the Austin show I believe. That was small pistol. Probably the hardest to find.

Is it wrong that I opened this thread hoping to find a link to .223 or 7.62x39 ammo?

Y'all are gonna' hate me but that's just the way it is.

Y'all remember me mentioning the Springfield Compact 1911 I found and bought at a little out of the way gunshop above Blue Mesa Reservoir outside of Gunnison, CO earlier this summer and what I went through to get it shipped to Texas and transported back up to Colorado? I love it!

Well, today I stopped in to see my new friend at this gunshop about a Goodrich & Gould belt he had in stock and one thing led to another. Long story short - I bought 4,000 FEDERAL Small Pistol Primers for $25.99/M plus tax! Bill said he didn't know he had then until some customer found them on a bottom shelf. At first, I only bought 3,000 thinking I didn't want to be greedy or a hoarder; but, I got over it and took them all. WHAT A JERK am I!

Lads and Lassies, you just gotta' keep lookin', they're out there...somewhere. BTW, anybody know where there are any large pistol primers...at a reasonable price?
