I stumbled upon this deal while researching turret presses: https://kempfgunshop.com//index.php?pag ... &Itemid=41
You get the Lee Classic turret press with dies and various accessories depending on which caliber kit you order for less than $200 and the site says they have stock as well. I know some of the other kits come with scales, case trimmers and other items but I gather from the reviews I have read they generally leave something to be desired and most end up purchasing different equipment anyway.
Does anyone have any experience with this shop? Opinions on the value of the kit or the press in general?

Re: Kempf Gun Shop
I bought and use the kit regularly. You should add the advanced powder measure, and the auto primer. Other than that, Lee's reloading book is one of the best. Buy a set of calipers and a digital scale at a hardware store and you are good to go. Swing by a gun show or Bass Pro or somewhere for some powder and primers, and I assume you have been saving brass.
You don't need a case trimmer for pistol ammo. Your case will long be gone before you need to trim the case. Likewise, you do not need a tumbler, unless for some reason you think shiny brass shoots better.
If you're going to load more than 500 or so rounds a week, you might should go with a Dillon, but for casual reloading, the Lee Classic Turret definitely fits the bill. It's fairly easy to pump out 1-200 an hour at a leisurely pace.

Re: Kempf Gun Shop
I have dealt with Kempf's several times and order from them regularly. They have always been prompt in shipping and almost always have what I need in stock. I understand that the older gentleman may not be the best in the "customer service" department, but I have never experienced this.
As far as presses, Dillon is a bit more expensive; however, I am totally sold on them, as they have never let me down as far as quality of equipment AND incredible customer service.

Re: Kempf Gun Shop
Thanks for the info, I am still holding out for something. What it is I don't know...
Perhaps this ammo situation will get me in gear.

Re: Kempf Gun Shop
I have been looking at this kit and trying to compare it to the kit at cabelas? I see the kempf one doesn't have a scale. Anything thing else that is different in the 2 kits (besides kempf comes with dies)?
Re: Kempf Gun Shop
I ordered my first kit from them. I ordered the upgrades as well. The LCT Kit from Kempf's is the best value I could find when I decided to start reloading. I bought the Lee Scale. However, I have since purchased a digital scale ($25) and it works fine. I would go with the digital scale.
BTW, I have a Load Master now. I still use the LCT for .45 ACP. It loads perfectly every time! The LM, not so much. But it is fast!
Go with the Kempf Kit! You will not regret it!
