I think he made a wise decision to shoot when he did.

If I see someone breaking into my home, and a .38 comes through the window, I plan to aim for the biggest thing and start shooting. I wouldn't think it wise to wait for him to get in and pose for the shot.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.
