i admit, i tried them out again and here we go again. it's show "in stock", then 24 hours later, an email saying they've "JUST" ran out of stock. :mad5
is this a frequent thing with them or is it "JUST" me????

i should have asked you guys first, where do you all buy your tactical gears online?

I've used them twice with good success with fast shipping. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Some here like them.....
Some don't (I am in this category).

I warned people here before......
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=45840&hilit=Optics+Planet" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In that thread you will see that they even signed up on this site (obviously notified by someone here that likes them) to post their spiel and the problems continued.

Same here. I ordered a new TLR-4 some 3 weeks ago and still not shipped. Expected time ship by this Friday. They offered to cancel my order.

I have used B&H Photo many times when purchasing camera equipment, optics and electronics. At first I was leary because of the NY stereotype of rude employees, but they have always been helpful and friendly.

I have never had an issue with them telling me that they have a product in stock when they don't. They don't try to sell you stuff that you don't want or need or substitute products. Their prices and selection are very good.

what bothers me the most is that optic planet is an Amazon seller. Worse, OPlant claims 99% of orders are in stock and shipped the same day. Clearly a misstatement.

+1 B&H Photo, great people to deal with.

Also, with regards to the other links posted in the above posts.........

Be very careful. Not only does Optics Planet sell on Amazon, they also have "Other" Websites that if you dig around you will find they are in fact Optics Planet (one in the same). See their own published list of their Websites here:
http://www.opticsplanet.net/oursites.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I would not be surprised to find other sites (not published) that are really theirs.

These guys are experts at Marketing. Unfortunately not good at all in delivering...... :banghead:

They burned me twice, and burned my son twice. I don't even casually browse their site anymore. On the last time with my son, they took his money, didn't tell him till a week later when he PHONED to track his order that it was on back order. He canceled the order and they took 10 days and multiple phone calls by me on his behalf to return the money to his account.

I think they are dishonest crooks, and their prices can be beaten.

EDITED TO ADD: I have had nothing but good luck with SWFA. When I went there to buy my new scope for my AR10 recently, they had the Leupolds I wanted to see in stock, an IOR Valdata I wanted to see, and of course the SWFA SS scope I wound up buying. They are rarely backordered on any items, and their prices are reasonable.

My experience with Botach was their website said everything was in stock when I ordered. Then 4-5 weeks later they sent me an email saying the main item in my order was out of stock, and they just shipped the rest of my order. That made S&H a 35% surcharge on the order instead of 10%. So it was more expensive and took a lot longer than buying those items from a local store. Botach? More like Bohica.
