Pocket carry was too comfortable

I often carry my S&W 642 in a pocket holster and it has gotten to the point that I sometimes forget I have it on me. Well last evening I was running around to store, gas staion, driving daughter to friends house and then went to the local high school footbal game with my wife. Rushed to get good parking, grabbed stadium chairs, had to run back for cell phone and then finally sat down in the stadium. UH OH!! forgot to leave something in the car!!! I said nothing to my wife about it and just acted normal. Felt a little odd. Glad nothing happened.

I totally agree. My little LCP is so comfortable to carry that I too forget I have it.

Tonight is the Hutto homecoming and I doubt I’ll forget to lock it in the car safe but if I do, the metal bleachers will surely remind me.

It's funny how you get used to it. At first my 642, and even an LCP felt a little bulky and heavy.
Now it's just part of my leg.

Did the same kind of thing at work. Reached in my pocket for something, and there it was.

Glad none of us were trying to get through airport security, but it does serve as a reminder.

Wait, you mean, you didn't go off rampaging and shooting people randomly?

I don't believe you, as according to the antis, everyone in your situation will suddenly hulk out, and begin shooting people left and right for no reason... after all, it's the gun that makes you do it.. not the person shooting it, right?

I must have a defective gun. It won't do anything on its own. It just lays there like a lazy slob while i feed it, house it, and carry it around everywhere. I even have to buy friends for it and they are all the same!!!

We have a local high school stadium that scans you with metal detectors AND take even your gum! (yes the chewing variety not a typo) You have the "choice" of making the incredible hike back to your car with your legal carry pocket knife OR giving it to them for disposal. Don't go to those games anymore...

I can identify with this. I carry a Kel-Tec P32 in a wallet holster when my usual IWB carry is not feasible, and while I've never taken it into a place I'm not supposed to I've caught myself almost doing it. I've also caught myself reaching for it instead of my wallet when I'm at a store getting ready to pay for something. Haven't actually pulled it out but definitely experience an "oops" moment when the fingertips touch the grip of the pistol instead of the leather of my wallet

However as far as I can tell, Dan20703 did not admit to breaking the law. He may have alluded to doing so thus providing probable cause, which also should be avoided.

Probable cause for what? I can see the DA now, "Oh, this guy forgot to put something in his car. It is on a CHL forum so it must have been a gun. We had a game in our town last night and this guy may have been at THAT one. Let's look him up and charge him!"

along the lines of "admissions against interest" I had to make an unplanned and unexpected quick trip to my child's school. . . yeah, yeah you know where this is going. . . it was just to drop off a check/paperwork, well I finally found a parking spot, grabbed the check/paperwork and headed across the parking lot to the school. . . . got about 20 feet from my truck when I realized "Uh-Oh", made a quick and not so subtle about face, went back to truck and secured Roscoe in the safe, then went into the school building and delivered the check. . . . whew. . .

You do have a very valid point! I am awaiting my license to come in the mail and I am trying to learn as much as I can on here
