Today, after getting home from work, The wife opened the garage door, and started doing some stuff in there (moving garbage bins, starting laundry, etc) while I went to go get the mail, which is around the corner of the block.

The new Sig P238 is a mini-1911 less grip safety. There are other mini 1911's out there. If you're into used guns look at the Colt Government .380(my avatar), Colt Pony, Pony Lite, etc. Llama also has one WITH a grip safety in .380, if I remember correctly.

Mactex : Was it propensity to fail to feed on the Bersa? If so, what did they do to fix it?

My last trip to the range I figured out why my Bersa has FTF issues. Heavy ball ammo. I've only ever had it fail to feed on 90+gr fmj ammo. 85gr JHP, 80gr DPX, and 102gr golden sabers have never failed in any regard.

You need to get your wife armed! You might not always be around. Another reason is, you might need a backup.

I have carried a Baretta 21 in 22LR and it was very small. There is also a version in 32ACP called the 3032 Tomcat which is very similar in size and it does have the safety in the correct place and operating action, down is off. I favor a Kel-Tec PF9 now. It is bigger but much easier to hit with at distance. The Kel-Tec PF9 has an issue if you do not let the trigger fully reset so I will not recommend it.

Hmmmm I usually run 94 or 95 gr through it but then again I only shoot what I can find! I will certainly see if a lower grain makes it run better. I was talking to the gunsmith today and they said that if it keeps on doing it they will send it back for me and get it repaired or looked at by Bersa

It may not be the weight: some of the Thunders had an issue wiht the inside edge of the slide stop being long enough to catch on certain shapes of bullets. Load the mag with a couple of each type, and cycle them through by hand one at a a time. Check for a scratch on the bullets from that edge. If that's doing it, a few gentle passes with a file should knock it down enough to clear the problem without impairing its function.

OMC BACKUP or AMT BACKUP (Same gun, but neither is made any more, unsure why)

Prices anywhere between $175 to $675 (Most around $250)
I have one, but I like my Diamondback DB380 more ... lighter weight, same size, and it feeds well on Buffalo Bore
