man broke into the parents house of a friend of mime, he kicked the front door in at 0300 this mourning as the elderly man was frantically trying to load the shotgun , mom called 911.
The invader wrestles with the man and takes the shotgun from him as the cops bust in!!
They are fixing to waste the invader him when the elderly man "hollers it is not loaded"!! it is not loaded!!
Cop said, "wish you had not said that" I am glad he did not waste him, A life is a terrible thing to waste !!!
Love your neighbor; as yourself!!

The criminals are the ones wasting their lives. LEOs and victims of their crime are saving and defending their own lives. The criminal chose to enter the house and all the results that go along with it. It, in my opinion, is more of a tragedy that the criminal chose to harm others than if he/she would have been injured or killed. This leach owes his life to that old man for speaking up. He should take it as a miracle and turn his life around. Otherwise, he is going to put himself in a situation where he will be lucky to only be shot and not killed by someone with more mercy than he can conceive. That is my opinion

:iagree:

An officer is not going to ask a suspect if a firearm is loaded if it's being pointed in their direction. If thier lives were in immediate danger by having a shotgun pointed at them, then it's a bad day to be that intruder. You point a weapon only at what you intend to shoot whether it is loaded or not. I am glad that no one was hurt, but if that shotgun was ever pointed in the direction of the officers, then they would have been justified in discharging their weapons in order to defend themselves.

. . . the elderly man was frantically trying to load the shotgun
Few things are more useless than an unloaded gun.

Sounds like an incredibly fast police response . . . perhaps a little too fast to take the story at face value.
