Don't know if this concerns this forum but wife just received an email about mandatory Sig MCX recall.

Very sad to see the failures that Sig has been pushing as of late...

I was looking for a Pistol Caliber Carbine and the Sig MCX was on my short list. I'm glad I passed on it.

MPX - P for pistol caliber
MCX - C for carbine calibers

You can have a 'pistol' version, stock/no stock, of either to make it doubly confusing.

MPX not involved in this one. Checked our books today and contacted all whose MCX serial numbers fit. Shorter list than I feared.

Santa almost bought himself an MPX SBR in K configuration, 4" barrel, but resisted.

The MPX is not part of this recall. Took mine out today and ran a few magazines through, just to be sure :biggrinjester:

Thanks for the correction on the Sig model difference. I clearly had not picked up on the difference and I should have given how much time I had spent reading reviews. I'm glad the MPX was not involved in the recall.

It looks like part of the recall is to pin the spring-plate in place, which would address the failure encountered by nutnfancy in this video. Start the video at 2:10 to jump to the failure:
