What Knife do you Carry?

Post by RubenZ »

For the longest time I've carried a Kershaw Blackout! I have since lost it and am now waiting for a Benchmade Rukus. It's been on backorder since May :(

What Knife are you guys carrying?

For me it is more of how many am I carrying. I normally have at least 2 on my at all times. Some times it is as high as 5+.
The ones that I rotate through are:
CRKT M21-14
CRKT M16-10KZ
Benchmade Stryker
Kershaw (can not remember the name of it, it is at home today)
CRKT Crawford Kasper
CRKT Crawford Kasper Tactical
CRKT Crawford Falcon folder
CRKT Crawford Falcon fixed
Cold Steel Super Edge
Cold Steel Urban Pal

Edit to add: Gerber Paraframe

I carry one of those little "Swiss" knives that has scissors, nail file, blade with tweezers and tooth picks that hide in the handle. Goes in the same pocket as the .38 speed strip.

Honestly, I used to carry a big'un with assisted opening, etc. but find I have more daily uses for the little pen knife with 1.5 " blade than I ever did with a big'un. To each his own.

+1 on the Evo folder, as well as a Mini paraframe. (And another Evo on a quick-release necklace under my shirt)

Just a little kershaw scallion... That assisted opening thing took some getting used to and I'm pretty sure my friends still think I carry a switchblade. But it's always sharp and is big enough for anything I need it for.

Gerber Evo Jr. and MTech money clip folder most of the time. Sometimes replace the Evo with a CRKT Bladelock.

CRKT M18-12.
Nearly lost it recently, I was heading back from my honeymoon and didn't realize it was in my pocket until I was in line to walk through airport security. Luckily they had this box you could drop it off on and they'd mail it home. (For $10)

Ruben, I've had a 610 Rukus since March of last year...Highly recommended! It's a very smooth knife overall and just the right size for those of us with big hands. I don't have another knife that takes or holds an edge so well. But I also don't own another knife that is quite so expensive. I paid a few dollars over dealer cost or else I don't think I'd have purchased it. Full retail is a bit steep still, it's a great knife. Just be carefull as it's easy to get such a thin edge that you develop chips along the blade with hard use.

Other than that, I've carried a CRKT M21-14 and Hammon Cruiser, S&W Neck Knife, as well as an early Benchmade 910. I use the M21 as a daily use blade for everything from opening boxes and letters to slicing fruit if I need a quick snack. Yes, I do tend to clean the blade before doing that sort of thing. The Rukus is kept in reserve for correcting socially deviant behavior.
When you take the time out of your day to beat someone, it has a much longer lasting effect on their demeanor than simply shooting or tazing them.
