Shoulder Holster Carry

Does anyone else find that a Shoulder Holster is the most comfortable and unobtrusive for conceal carry of a slightly larger gun?

This must have been kicked around before. I have just realized how much more comfortable it is for me, especially as I carry my phone on my belt.

I carry my 4" K frame S&W model 19 in a VERTICAL shoulder holster on long trips and when doing lots of tractor work. I completely agree that it is just as safe horizontal as vertical but I also agree with the perception of safer not looking at someone's muzzle.

Without going into all of the vertical vs horizontal issues I have found the Andrews Monarch to be extremely comfortable while carrying Colt LW Commander. Covers well with a light jacket or Hawaiian type shirt.

That Monarch is an excellent rig.

I also carry a Commander length 1911, but double stack and all stainless. Along with a spare mag, flashlight and other accessories it makes for a fairly heavy assembly, but the weight is well balanced and it doesn't bother me.

For those wishing to conceal using a shoulder rig, take an extra few seconds to be certain your shirt doesn't bunch up under the straps and that your collar (if the shirt has one) is laying properly. Usually a quick 'tug' on the tail of your shirt will straighten everything prior to putting on your cover garment.

If your cover garment is thin, the straps might print through it, but most folks will not notice. LEO and others with a trained eye will detect it.

I find a full size pistol is best in shoulder holster, comfort comes to mind, I carry a full size 1911.
In a waist band, it digs into my upper thigh to much. I have a shoulder holster for it.
I also have cross draw holsters that are comfortable for it.
At my age 68, things and places hurt a lot more.

I have two of the light cotton/nylon/velcro things from Deep Conceal that I use to carry my SP101s, usually over a tee shirt and under a dress shirt. They are similar to the Kangaroo Carry shoulder rigs that I saw at the gun show last weekend. I like them.

To me, shoulder holsters are more comfortable than any other style of carry. I often carry a beretta 96 in a vertical rig from Black Hills Leather. I have noticed that cheap, nylon shoulder rigs are not comfortable for me as they never seem to ride right. Investing a little more in a quality leather rig makes a world of difference.

I have a Bianchi right hand shoulder rig for a 5"1911 I would sure trade for a good belt holster for a compact size Glock 23/26/32

I just started using the Kangaroo air marshal 3. Best,most comfortable holster I have. Yes,I have a drawer full of IWB and OWB holsters. This air marshal 3 is so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing it. Also, conceals the weapon better than the others. Not hard to get to either. Easy with a little practice.

I have never been able to feel comfortable with any shoulder holster. I have tried a couple and they just don't seem to fit me. But then I find OWB to be the most comfortable way to carry. Each to his own.

+1 for Kangaroo Carry. Comfortable and easy for concealing.

yes.
my only problem with it is most of the year its too hot to carry concealed in a shoulder holster.
