If so, what are your thoughts good and bad?
My wife saw one at the gun store while shopping and thats all she has talked about since yesterday. If the reports are good, Santa may have to deliver one for her.

i mainly pocket carry mine in a desantis nemesis holster with the "wallet" look in the back pocket and it is great for pack and go. it being a .380 you'll need some good defense rounds and at least 1 extra mag. mine is in the scorpion finish and it's my favorite flavor of the sigs! I wish they'd hurry up and make an ultra size 1911 in the scorpion too!

I used to pocket carry one all the time as a BUG or a primary when I could not carry a full size. It's small, light weight (for an all metal pistol), very tame on the recoil, and pocket carries well. The only downside I found is the price. I no longer carry it at all because it has been surpassed by a P938 (Same platform, but in 9mm and only a little bigger).

I have a P238 (SAS model). Very good gun. I have never had an issue with it. That said parts and accessories are expensive. Best I remember extra mags were about $50 each.

+1 on the P938. I keep trying not to carry it, but just when I think I'm out, carrying something full size, it pulls me back in. It's like a miniature 1911, fits the hand, small, relatively light weight.

Looking at the 9mm version. Are any of your 9mm?

Okay, I just saw where I put the 238 instead of 938 in the heading. Sorry. She liked the 938

It's a great gun. I haven't put a lot of rounds through mine yet but it's a joy to carry.

I have the 238 and 938. If you would like, we can meet up somewhere and you and your wife can shoot both of them.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

PawPaw (BTW thats what my grandkids call me), I appreciate the offer but she is going to the range today (ladies shooting day with some of her friends) and is planning on renting one. Biggest concern is the amount of recoil due to her arthritis.

The 938 does have pretty stout recoil, but the 238 is a cream puff.

The offer stands. Just let me know. :tiphat:

I am a wheel gun guy through and through but...I love my p938 I only have around 600 rounds through it.
Be carful though the early 938s had issues (the extracter I believe) sig fixes it for us but I think after a certain serial number it has been fixed from factory.. also I found it only seems to like 124 and 148 grain. It conceals well, been carrying t for about a month( just got my plastic a few months ago) when I find it easier then my larger revolver but heck it'll still be my BUG when I get a good holster system.
All in all I suggest buying it but if the mrs can try it to be sure.. You know what they say.. "Happy wife, Happy life"..
Get the extended mag, extra round and a place for the pinky

UPDATE:
She came home from the range and proceeded to tell me how well she liked the 938. Said recoil was a little snappy but manageable. She put about 300 rounds down range with no ill effects at all. She asked if we could go back last night and have me shoot it for an opinion (like it would matter), so we did. My thoughts are it is a very good shooter. Recoil is a little snappy but less than my Colt Defender or any of my short barreled 1911's in .45. For a short grip, it still fits my hand pretty well and hers even better. Looks like Santa will be bringing her a new P938 (he might even bring me one as well).
Thanks to everyone for your feed back, and PawPaw, thank you so much for your offer. It just goes to show that the folks here are always willing to help someone out. Thats one of the reason I have stayed on this forum and let the rest go by the wayside.

I carry mine in the summer month and I like it. I have a Desantis pocket holster like mentioned by another user earlier and a D. M. Bullard dual carry holster. The gun takes some break in, I have about 500+ through and it is much smoother now. Get the SAS, the rounded edges come in more comfortable if it sits in your pocket all day. Exercise a lot, it is a bit snappy. Don't use +p or better, don't assume you can hit a car at 100 yards, watch out for the recoil spring, get ready for loading some real tuff magazines, keep it lubed with the good sticky grease just where it is needed, clean it at least once a month (that pocket fuzz is everywhere). I had some feeding problems until I had about 150 rounds through it but past that there was not one hickup.
Most important: Don't carry it if you don't trust the SA mechanics!!! Keep it in a pocket holster and not loose in your pants.
It is so light, you may forget it is there. Watch out for this one!

I carry the 938 daily because of the size and ease of concealment. Shooting it is a breeze and very manageable plus it is a quality firearm. My only additional comment is that I do not believe this is a carry gun for newbie's since it is a SAO and one needs to be very concsious of the safety which is a skill that is developed over time.
