Bought my first Glock today...
Took it straight to the range And I'm impressed.
I'm really a 1911 guy, my grandpa was a Texas Ranger and pounded into my head that if a gun was polymer it was just a toy. But I got a good deal on a gen 3 G22 .40 . I have to say, it performed as well as any pistol I own. May have to check out one of the .357 sig or 10mm models...

It won't be your last either! I fell in love with my g26 and my next one is either going to be a 36 or 30s just haven't been able to fondle them both side by side.

I have a 19 & a 26 and I want a 17 even though I have absolutely no use for one as I wouldn't use it for an EDC.

Bought my first Glock in 1996. Haven't been without one since.

Congrats on your new Glock. Bet it won't be your last one. In view of the fact you mentioned 10mm, when you are ready, take a look at the 29.

Welcome to the club.
First gun I ever bought was a Glock 22. A few months later got a 27. Now, 10y+ I sold the .40's away one at a time and got a 21SF and 30SF. I think a 34 might be my next handgun purchase. However, I will have a 1911 someday.

Congrats!
The good news is just because you've started to appreciate Glocks doesn't mean you can't love and shoot 1911s.
But you might stop carrying them as often.

Re: Bought my first Glock today...
Everyone needs a Glock..... or two.....
Since ammo is expensive, scarce, or both, I've moved towards consolidation of my collection to either .45ACP or 9mm. I've been stockpiling ammo in those two calibers for a while and won't be running out anytime soon.
While I prefer my Kimber 1911's (Pro and Ultra size Stainless TLE models), I've also developed an unexplainable fondness for Glocks.
I was a Police Officer a long time ago when we were issued the S&W Model 66 .357, my son is a current Police Officer and his department issued duty weapon is a Glock 22 .40 caliber, his personal backup gun is a subcompact Glock 27 .40 caliber.
After being around his Glocks for a while, I decided to try them for myself. I picked up a Model 36 to to use with the .45 ACP ammo that I have on hand, and a Model 26 for use with the 9mm ammo I have on hand.
Both are very good handguns in the general 'all purpose' category. They never fail to operate and they are actually fun to maintain. I refer to them as "deadly dependable simplicity".
I'm always looking for good deals on different models in either of these two calibers. Bought a Glock 30 recently, but sold it pretty quick because I didn't care for the way the wide double stack grip on a sub compact fit my hand.
Lately, I find myself reaching more and more for one of the Glocks as my EDC.
