Where to buy .22 LR?

#1

Post by daniel2002p »

Figured I would start another thread to the "Where to buy 9mm" since I am having a heck of time finding any .22LR in stock anywhere. I have a few boxes of the federal from Wal Mart left over but I want to stock up soon as I want to go to the range and have fun with my "Assault Weapon" aka the Mossberg tactical 715t.

3)Keep fingers off the trigger until ready to shoot. 4)Be sure of your target and backstop.

As with all types of ammo, it really just depends on your timing. But with that being said, I've had good luck at Dick's Sporting Goods in Allen. About a month ago I picked up 1,000 round of CCI and then about two weeks ago I got about 2,000 rounds of Remington. I've had to ask for it both times because it wasn't sitting on the shelf. I don't know if people don't think of Dick's selling ammo, etc or maybe it's just because that particular Dick's is right next door to Cabela's and most people only check at Cabela's for ammo. I do know that certain Sports Authority locations sell ammo too but I've never actually looked for ammo there. Your best bet may be to check those types of places because I believe the common person doesn't necessarily equate sporting good stores to selling ammo.

Haven't seen any on the shelves in over a month and a half. People are camping out at Academy in Frisco and Plano at 7:30am to get .22 LR! I used to go shooting every weekend and get ammo on the way. Now I have to call 4-7 places everyday of the week and not once have they had any in stock. What is going on!?!?!?!

My daily routine now: Wake up, shave, have breakfast, go on-line and look for 9mm and 22lr. Have lunch, look for ammo. Do afternoon stuff then go on-line and look for ammo. Go to bed. Wake up...

We are in the same boat.... We have been lucky enough to find it at a couple ranges and then you have to shoot with them to buy any. Shoot Smart had it Saturday with a 100 round max per lane rental.

22lr is the only thing I have been looking for, for the past month. Hadn't seen any available until yesterday. Walmart had 50rd boxes yesterday but are sold out today. Lady at the counter said that Walmart warehouse is out of stock of the 525rd boxes.

I got an e-mail that stated "normal" ammunition supply will be 9-12 months out. That's about what it was last time. We shall see.

They had some out at Alpine shooting range but it was exepensive. About $48.00 for a box of 525

Keep checking this link (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Federal-Ammun ... t/17128628). Wal-Mart has taken ammo off of their online tracker, however if you have that link bookmarked, you can still check it. Surprisingly, its very accurate. I saw my local WM showed to have boxes of the Federal 550 in stock. Got to the ammo counter and was staring at a bare case. I asked the girl if she could check the back for it, sure enough I was the proud new owner of three boxes. She asked how I knew and I just smiled.

You have the links for .45 and 9mm saved and willing to share? Perhaps?

I imagine the helpfulness of the employees may vary by store. I've hit up Wal-Mart several times with the web page saying in stock, only to have employees look at me like I was asking for plutonium.

Probably going to hate myself for this later when I can't find any, but here goes. All the links below are for Federal value packs, except the 9mm. For whatever reason I can't find the 100-round 9mm packs link (if someone finds it I'd be much obliged if they'd post it.)

Thanks for the links. I'm down in South Texas and needed that. I appreciate it.
