6.8 SPC Muzzle Brake

#1

Post by AggieMike »

Does anyone know where to find one of these? A few sites suggested using a .308, but not even sure if threads would match and quite frankly a bit big for the 6.8 I would think. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Should be the same threads as a 30 cal.

Unless something has changed, most 6.8 barrells are threaded for the same standard on the muzzle as .308 barrels. On my 6.8 SPC build I am running a YHM 30 cal flash hider. If you look hard enough you can find 6.8 specific muzzle devices, but they use the same threads as the .308 version. There's a good reason that they aren't too popular as the manufactures don't want to risk someone screwing one onto a .30 cal firearm (This would result in much ungoodness).
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Thanks, so not so unreasonable when I saw people using .308 Muzzle breaks then. Appreciate the help!
